First Encounter.

"What happened " Leon touched his neck in pain. The car suddenly stopped jerking him to the front.

His driver turned anxiously, "Am sorry master, someone just jumped in front of us " he said.

"Go out and check if they are okay," he said sitting back.

His driver got out and moved to the person who was laying down. Luckily he had stopped the car in time or this person would have died now. With the rain heavily falling the roads were slippery too.

"Are you alright?" he asked the slender figure trying to get up.

"Am okay, I just need to get up " a weak shaky voice said.

The driver put away his umbrella and bent down to help when he realized it was a woman.

Her trench coat was soaked with her things scattered across the road. She collected them pushing them into her wet bag. And tried to get up with his help but fell back down.

"What is taking you so long?" a voice behind her asked.

"Am sorry boss, this lady seemed to have broken her ankle " his driver answered.

Leon looked down at the still-struggling stranger trying to get up.

"Am really sorry just give me a minute and I will be out of your way " he heard her voice. Her brown long hair was stuck to her face, her lashes kept fluttering as she tried to fight the pain from her leg.

She turned to look up at her and his hold on the umbrella subconsciously tighten.

He walked closer and offered his hand. She looked at him hesitant but he sighed, "If you don't move am going to be late. And since it's my driver's fault we need to help you " he said.

Her cold wet hand fell into his and gently he helped her up. She was limping as he lead her away from the road.

"Thank you and am sorry for jumping in front of your car like that, "she said.

His eyes swept over her, "It's alright, and will you be able to manage now" he pointed at her leg.

She nodded with unsettling eyes.

"Am just in a hurry but I will be okay, thank you for your help " she said

Leon walked back to his car and got in. His eyes were still on the drenched limping woman across the street. She pulled her coat tighter to her trembling body and stopped a taxi.

His driver got in and started the car.

"Let's go or mom will go crazy in the hospital," he said.

.....

He arrived at the hospital and walked into the ward his mother was in.

"We have given her the VIP room and gave her some food. Please calm her down " the doctor said.

Leon thanked the doctor and walked towards the room his mother was in.

"Doctor, what happened to my son?" Leon stopped when he heard the voice. He turned to see the same trenchcoat follow one of the doctors.

Without thinking he turned to follow them. It was the same woman from the accident. Still dripping from the rain and trying to walk with her broken ankle.

"Miss Cowell, your son had another attack but his nanny brought him here in time. His now stable and just needs to rest " the doctor said to her.

"Thank you so much, doctor," she said. She watched him walk off, her body finally giving in to the trauma of the night she staggered but two firm hands held her.
