Chapter 11:My husband is too considerate

As Lira stepped into the shower, her thoughts were filled with questions. What could have brought Vadal back so early? Was everything okay? And what would he say to her when they met?

As soon as she was done taking a shower and dressing up, Lira rushed to Vadal's master bedroom, her heart racing with excitement. Without knocking, she pushed open the door and entered, a bright smile on her face.

However, her joyful reunion was met with a surprising scene. Vadal was sitting on the bed, his back against the headboard, and his eyes fixed on some papers in his hand. He looked up, his expression unreadable, and their eyes met.

Lira's smile faltered, and an awkward silence filled the room. She felt a sudden pang of uncertainty, wondering if she had misread the situation. Vadal's expression was not what she had expected, and she felt a shiver run down her spine.

Lira walked towards Vadal with a bright smile, expecting a warm welcome. However, Vadal dodged her hug, his expression unreadable. The silence was broken by his low, husky voice, "What are you doing here, Lira?"

Lira's smile faltered, and she felt a pang of disappointment. She had expected a more enthusiastic reception, especially after his sudden return. However, Vadal's demeanor was detached, his eyes narrowed slightly as he waited for her response.

Lira's instincts told her to tread carefully. She sensed that something was amiss, that Vadal's mood was darker than usual. She decided to play it cool, to gauge his mood before revealing her own emotions. "I heard you were back," she said, her voice neutral. "I wanted to welcome you home."

Vadal's eyes returned to the paper he was going through, Lira felt disappointed. What had she done wrong that made Vadal avoid her? She tried to shake off the feeling, focusing on the reason for his sudden return.

"Darling, you said your business trip would last for only two days. Why did you come back so quickly?" Lira asked, her voice laced with confusion.

Vadal looked up from the paper, his voice cold. "Are you disappointed that you won't get to see your lover?" Lira was taken aback by his words, her expression confused.

"I don't understand, husband," Lira said, her voice filled with emotion. "I told you I don't love Laurent anymore. You are the one I choose. Can we forget about the past, please?" She cradled his handsome face, her eyes pleading.

Vadal's smile was cold, his eyes piercing. He stared at his wife, plotting against him behind his back and acting cute in front of him. He felt sorry for himself, for falling in love with a scheming, bad young wife.

"I canceled the business trip," Vadal said, staring at Lira. "Why?" Lira asked, confusion etched on her face. "Because you said you would be lonely and bored, and you didn't know if you would survive. That's why," Vadal replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

A blush spread across Lira's face as she remembered her words from the previous night. "My husband is too considerate. I love you more for that," she said, hugging him tightly.

Lira's voice sounded silky and smooth as she whispered, "Do you forget something, darling?"

A smile appeared on Vadal's face, and he picked a box from his pocket, handing it over to Lira. "I promise to get you something right," he said, his eyes sparkling with romance.

Lira's eyes widened as she took the box, jumping up in excitement. She kissed Vadal's lips, her voice filled with gratitude. "Thanks, husband. You are the best."

Vadal stared at Lira's happy self, feeling happy in his heart. For the first time, he saw a genuinely happy Lira, without any pretenses. Her smile lit up the room, and Vadal's heart swelled with love for his wife.

Lira's fingers trembled with excitement as she opened the box. Inside, she found a beautiful diamond necklace, its sparkling gemstones reflecting the light. Her eyes widened in awe, and she gasped, "Oh, Vadal... it's stunning!"

Vadal's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled, "I saw it and thought of you. The diamonds reminded me of your eyes, shining bright and beautiful." Lira's heart melted at his romantic words, and she felt her love for him deepen.

Lira threw her arms around Vadal's neck, hugging him tightly. "Thank you, husband. I love it, and I love you even more for thinking of me." Vadal's arms wrapped around her waist, holding her close as they shared a tender moment.

As they hugged, Lira whispered, "I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I didn't mean to make you think I still had feelings for Laurent." Vadal's grip on her waist tightened, and he whispered back, "I know, my love. I trust you."

As Lira hugged Vadal, her thoughts drifted back to her conversation with Darko. She wondered if she should tell Vadal about Laurent's sinister plans, but a part of her hesitated. Would Vadal believe her, or would he think she was just trying to manipulate him?

Lira decided to keep the information to herself for now, not wanting to ruin the romantic moment they were sharing. But she knew she couldn't keep it hidden forever. She would have to find a way to tell Vadal the truth without putting him in danger.

As they pulled back from their hug, Lira's eyes met Vadal's, and for a moment, she saw a flicker of uncertainty. It was as if he sensed that something was bothering her, but he didn't push the issue. Instead, he smiled and took her hand, leading her to the dinner table.

The next day, Vadal's assistant handed him a file, saying, "Here is the investigation of what and where Young Mrs. went and who she interacted with in the past few days, as you ordered." Vadal stood in front of his window, looking at the sky as the early morning sun rose, staring at the sky like a lost soul, feeling lonely, betrayed, heartbroken, and down.

He remained silent, standing still like a statue, his eyes fixed on the horizon. The assistant's voice broke the silence, "Young Master, are you alright?" But Vadal didn't respond, his gaze still fixed on the distance.

The assistant's eyes narrowed, his brow furrowed with concern. He had never seen Vadal like this before, so still and so quiet. The young master's usual confidence and composure were gone, replaced by a deep sadness and despair.

The assistant's eyes fell on the file in his hand, the investigation report on Lira's activities. The young master's silence was unsettling, and the assistant couldn't help but wonder what was going through his mind.

Vadal turn to face his assistant his eyes, once bright and full of life, had turned cold and lonely. Black circles had formed around his stunning eyes, and they looked red, as if he had been crying, but there were no tears in them. The assistant's heart felt a pang of hurt as he saw his young master in such a state. He had never seen Vadal like this before, and it was clear that he was struggling to come to terms with something.
