Prowess

"Stop. Please stop, I beg of you." Alfred pleaded while placing himself between the two armoured guards and Romeo.

"Get out of my way old man!" The smirk on the young man's face disappeared as he narrows his gaze at Alfred. "Hand the boy over and I promise to forgive you for your iniquity." A tone of arrogance twinge with displeasure made it's way into the ears of Alfred as the young man says those words.

"I know my son might have offended you but I beg you to be magnanimous." Alfred requested with a humble bow to which Romeo's eyes twitch involuntarily.

Romeo wanted to curse Alfred for his humility or rather, stupidity. The old man clearly had no idea about what happened yet he was pinning the blame on him when it was the young man that is at fault. Alfred didn't even bother asking about what transpired between them

As Alfred had commanded, Romeo stood rooted on the spot where Alfred left him while letting his gaze to wander around as he was mesmerise by the magnificence of the Spatial Port. During the moments when Romeo was scrutinising the architectural wonders of the Spatial Port, he felt someone suddenly bumped into him harshly from behind.

Romeo was forced to tear his gaze away while fixing it solely on the person who had mistakenly bump into him. At first, he thought the young man might apologize for his mistake but instead of admitting that he was mistaken, the young man was the first to question Romeo while making it seem like it was Romeo's fault for standing in his way.

Not wanting to aggravate the matter any further, Romeo forced himself to swallow his pride as he apologises to the man for a deed that he didn't commit. Also, rather than for the young man to accept the apology and move on, he was demanding for some kind of compensation for the damage Romeo had supposedly caused him which caused Romeo's anger to be fueled.

Yet, instead of Alfred defending his honour, he was still lowering himself to a man who looks less than half his age while apologizing. This action simply wants to make Romeo run amok with anger.

Upon hearing the words of Alfred, the young man had a mischievous smile crept up his face as he replies, "Since he is your son, I suggest you take part in his punishment. Only then would I forget what he did." The tone with which the young man spoke with was filled with feigned magnanimity.

Romeo was about to open his mouth to speak when Alfred interjected, "Anything you want. As long as you let my son go, I would do it."

The young man's smile broadened as he watched the submissive attitude of Alfred. This is the feeling he is used to all the years of his life. The feeling of having people bow before him while doing what he wants as he continues to bully them. This is the feeling of superiority.

"What I want is quite simple actually. Your son bumped into me and in do doing caused me not just emotional pain but also physical damage, for this reason, I want him to feel the same thing he made me feel." The young man explains.

"Bumped into you? Are you for real? You were the one who clearly bumped into me!" Romeo couldn't hold back anymore as he bellows furiously. He really hated the feeling of powerlessness to the extent that he could feel the blood in his veins getting hotter by the second as he wanted to descend upon the young man but he held back because of Alfred.

The young man's gaze turns cold as he cast his piercing gaze on Romeo. "I guess you still want to learn the lesson that I haven't taught you." The underlying meaning of threat was evident to Romeo as the young man spoke but he is not ready to back down now.

"Romeo, shut up! Do not say anything stupid." Alfred warned as he turns to shoot Romeo a sharp glare that didn't deter him in the slightest.

However, Romeo was starting to get confused at the actions of Alfred. The way the old man is behaving seems like he is scared of the young man before him. Though Romeo had figured out that the young man might come from an aristocratic heritage, he refuses to back down and allow some rich scion to bully him but Alfred's behaviour still seem quite bizarre to Romeo.

"I beg you to forgive my son. His childishness caused him to speak out of turn." Alfred said while retaining his previous posture of bowing before the young man who now clicks his tongue in disgust.

"You pleaded for magnanimity but I don't think your son is deserving of it. For that reason, he shall bear full consequences of his actions but don't worry, you shall also be a partaker of my wrath." The young man says and at his words, the guards behind him move to seize Alfred.

Seeing the situation go awry, Romeo's eyes could almost spew rage and if looks could kill, the young man would have been six feet under the ground owing to the intensity of the stare Romeo is sending his way.

Without further ado, Romeo rushed to kicked the first guard that moved to grab the right arm of Alfred. Sending the guard flying with a single swipe of his leg, the guard fell onto the floor with an intensity that caused a crack to appear in the ground. Thanks to the armour he is putting on, no severe damage was done to the guard except for superficial wound.

The other guard approaches Romeo with caution having seen the scene unfolding before his eyes. They had underestimated Romeo before but judging by the speed and attack of Romeo, the guard deduced that he might not be the ordinary guy they took him to be.

Even the young man was not left as ripples stir in his heart out of shock for the prowess displayed by Romeo. He hadn't expected Romeo to possess such strength as not many people can knock out an armour claded elite with just a move of their leg yet Romeo was able to do it without batting an eyelid.

Furrowing his brows, the young man scrutinized Romeo as he tries to figure out what might be strange about him. Though he might be an arrogant and spoilt scion, he has been taught to know the kind of battles to fight and the ones to withdraw from.

If truly that Romeo might be as extraordinary as he just displayed, which he doubts because he hadn't sensed anything extraordinary about Romeo but then, some people have the ability to conceal their true strength from the probing gaze of others and this feat can only be achieved by top powerhouses who are well versed in the ways of the Carnal Gene.

However, he doubts the fact that Romeo might be a powerhouse, hell the guy might not even possess a Carnal Gene as he is one of those slum outcasts so why should he even bother with him. Having this thought in mind, the young man realise that he had just been paranoid simply because of a lucky kick from Romeo when Romeo is nothing more but an outcast, one that he would trample under his feet.

Romeo stared at the approaching guard and maintain his stance. Perking all of his senses while proceeding with caution so that he won't be taken by surprise, Romeo made sure to anticipate and calculate the attack of his armoured opponent.

However, the guard soon did something that shocked Romeo, rather than moving in to wrestle with him, the guard activated a feature of his armour. Suddenly, out of the gauntlet of the armour was a turret which materialised out of nowhere. The nozzle is pointed at Romeo while the guard simply prepares to fire it. Having draw enough power necessary to shoot out a beam capable of decapitating Romeo, the guard took the shot and a bright red laser beam emitted from the turret while moving at light speed to Romeo who immediately jumped out of the way.

Though his response time was a little bit faster than he had expected, Romeo was still unable to be unscathed as the beam pierced through his right shoulder. Romeo hardly have the time to recover when series of laser beams flew his way.
