I knew better than to look outside and see what was going on, though I had a pretty good idea. I also knew better, right now anyway, than to try and help with my magic. I would be lectured on the amount of rest I needed, but that didn’t help the coiling worry in my stomach for Percival. Reginald was out there too. What could be going on?
Eventually, I got my answer. I was making my way to the library, trying to clear my head, still somewhat tired after sex. The back door opened, causing me to turn and fix my eyes on Percival, who was absolutely covered in blood. My breath caught in my throat at this display, but I swallowed my fear and dipped my head. “Were you able to fend off the attackers?” I asked, my eyes sweeping over him. Possibly a dumb question on my part, but he nodded anyway.
