His enthusiastic response left Isabel momentarily stunned. She then looked at Percy with a somewhat amused expression, wanting to laugh at his child-like innocence. However, seeing Percy's stern face, Isabel suppressed her urge to smile, bent down to place the slippers beside the bed, and then helped him walk over to the dining table.
As the two ate in silence, the only sound that filled the air came from the clinking of cutlery and porcelain bowls and plates.
After a while, Isabel placed a piece of meat in Percy's bowl. Percy hesitated for a moment before a faint smile appeared on the corner of his lips. He bowed his head and silently ate the meat, and then, following Isabel's lead, he picked up a piece of rib and placed it in her bowl.
Isabel looked up at Percy and smiled before lowering her head to take a bite.
Just as her mouth was about to touch the rib, Percy suddenly reached out, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her towards him.
