Holding on for life
Kavi POV
The room was quiet for a moment, giving me more time to overthink. Torn wasn't harsh enough to tell you how I felt. There was pain in my heart, mourning so much, and risking losing even more by feeling it. The way Drew reacted; it was hurting him more than I realized. Now, he ran off on some unknown errand, leaving me alone. That wasn't like him…
What happened while I was out? Did I say or do something? My mind raced, thoughts of Vincent taking a backseat for a moment. My attention, my heart, ripping in two. I needed something to hold me together.
Drew popped back in quickly, all smiles as always, "Nurse is bringing your paperwork now, guess I was right on time." The nurse walked in, handing me a tablet to sign my release while Drew seemed to bounce around nervously. Wasn't sure what was going on with him, but he kept a smile on his face while around me; although it seemed strained at times.
