Dungeon break (1)

After landing on the ground, Maria was surprised that it didn't hurt at all.

She quickly opened her eyes and looked around herself to see the destruction that had been caused around her.

But to her surprise, she also found that there was a circle around her that had many people in it that didn't have any debris. It was almost as if there was something that had protected all of them as they fell.

She let out a sigh of relief when she saw this, but then she started trying to figure out what had happened.

The last thing she remembered was that there was a slight tremble in the ground before the floor beneath them had suddenly collapsed.

Did something happen to the store?

As she was lost in thought, the people around her also started slowly coming back to their senses and trying to figure out what had happened.

However, they received an answer very quickly.

Monsters suddenly appeared from the rubble and started surrounding them. It was clear that these monsters had bad intentions towards them.

The people in this area all revealed ugly expressions as they realized what had happened.

Dungeon break.

There had been a dungeon break in this mall and now they were trapped in here with the monsters.

Unless they destroyed the core in the center of this dungeon, it would be impossible for them to escape this place…

The only other way that this would end would be them dying and becoming fertilizer for the dungeon.

It was a good thing that this was a mall that catered to hunters, so there were plenty of hunters that had also been caught up in this dungeon break. At the same time, because this was a mall that catered to hunters, there was plenty of gear all around them that hadn't been destroyed in the break.

In a dangerous situation like this, there was no time to worry about things like costs, so they just scavenged whatever they could to use against the monsters that were circling around them.

There were also some store owners that were here, but their lives were more important to them at this moment. Not to mention, they had insurance for situations like this, so they would get paid either way.

So seeing these hunters step up to fight these monsters for them, they started cheering them on. Hearing these cheers also made the hunters much more enthusiastic about fighting these monsters.

With this atmosphere, the people that had been nervous slowly relaxed and started to enjoy this.

After all, the hunters here weren't pushovers.

There were actually quite a few A Rank Hunters who had been here shopping since this was the biggest mall for hunters in the first place.

While A Rank Hunters weren't as famous or strong as S Rank Hunters, they were still the cream of the crop. In most situations, they were strong enough to push back the monsters that came out of the dungeon portals.

It was only in certain situations where the fate of the Earth itself hung in the balance that they wouldn't be able to do anything and S Rank Hunters were needed.

So for most people, they thought that they would be safe with these A Rank Hunters around.

These A Rank Hunters didn't disappoint as they quickly cleared out the monsters around them.

With the top of the line gear that they took from the stores, it was even easier than normal for them.

One of the groups of A Rankers, a group called the Dawn of Light were easily cutting their way through the monsters and creating a path forward.

The leader, the A Ranker Sword of Light Ryu, cut right through the goblin in front of him, cutting it in half without the slightest bit of effort.

When he saw this, he couldn't help lifting the sword that he had picked up and praising it, "This new blade made of adamantium really is something special. I never would have been able to afford something like this, but getting for free now really is something special."

The woman beside him, their healer Fiery Saintess Chloe gave a snort of ridicule before saying, "If you didn't blow all of your money on women and booze, then you would be able to easily afford it."

Ryu gave a loud laugh before saying, "What's life without a little enjoyment?"

Then without even giving her a chance to say anything, he charged forward to cut down even more monsters.

Chloe looked at him with a look of disdain, but she still healed him when he got injured and buffed him as he fought the monsters.

The archer of their group, Storm Arrow Amun couldn't help revealing a smile when he saw this. He knew the truth that Chloe actually had a crush on Ryu and she was only talking this way because she was jealous that he spent most of his time with other women.

Not to mention…Chloe was a big tsundere in the first place, so she always sounded tough…even when she didn't mean to.

It was their party's private enjoyment watching the relationship between the two, wondering when they would take the next step.

However, before he could tease her, his brows suddenly knit.

As their ranger, he had the sharpest senses and he immediately felt the feeling of danger coming from in front of them.

There was a big monster in front and it clearly wasn't weak based on this feeling he was feeling.

So Amun quickly said, "The boss is coming, let's get in formation!"

The other members of the party all nodded and came back to gather around Amun, with the exception of Ryu who was neck deep in monsters. He had completely lost himself in his joy in testing out his new sword that he didn't hear Amun at all and only charged forward to meet the other monsters.

Seeing this, all of them couldn't help revealing a bitter smile since this was something that they were already used to.

Chloe didn't hold back at all as she raised her hand that was covered in a holy light. She pointed her hand at Ryu's back and without hesitation, she shot a holy light arrow at him.

Ryu might have been lost in his slaughter of the monsters, but he was still a powerful A Ranker with sharp senses. Not to mention that Chloe wasn't being serious with this attack and had only sent a weak holy light arrow at him.

With the slightest bit of effort, Ryu was able to dodge just enough that the holy light arrow was parried by his sword and slid off it to hit a goblin that had been swinging its sword at him.

Ryu quickly came back to the formation and said with a bitter smile, "Aren't you being a bit rough today? You could have just called out to me, you know?"

Chloe stuck out her tongue and said, "We did call out to you. Whose fault is it that they didn't listen and kept charging deeper?"

Ryu's smile became more bitter, but he knew better than to argue with her since he had never once won an argument against her.

He came to his place at the very center of the formation and they slowly cut down all the monsters that charged at them without much effort. Most of their attention was actually focused on the space in front of them where they sensed that powerful aura, waiting for the owner of that aura to appear.

Eventually, the owner of that aura did show itself.

It was another goblin, but unlike the rest of the goblins, this one was a withered old goblin that was hobbling forward with a walking cane. It also had a small crown that it was wearing on its head.

The moment that the Dawn of Light party saw this, all of them couldn't help jolting in shock. They could feel the powerful aura that was coming from this old goblin and they knew that it wasn't a simple one.

One of the newer members couldn't help asking, "Is that a Goblin King?"

Ryu shook his head with a bitter smile and said, "No, Goblin Kings are much bigger than that."

The newer member couldn't help asking again, "Then what is it?"

Ryu's bitter smile filled with more bitterness as he said, "Goblin Kings are stronger and larger than normal goblins, so they wouldn't look like that. But Goblin King isn't the final evolution for goblins…"

The newbie shuddered when he heard this and he asked, "Leader, do you mean?"

Ryu gave a nod before saying, "That thing is a Goblin Emperor, the ruler of all goblins…"

The newbie's face filled with despair as he realized what kind of predicament they were in.

Ryu took a deep breath before saying, "Everyone, gather yourselves and give me your attention! I know that this is worse than any situation that we've ever found ourselves in, but we can't give in now! I believe that as long as we work together, we'll be able to take this Goblin Emperor…"

Before he could finish, there was a wolf's howl that suddenly filled the area.

All of them followed the source of this howl and they found that there was a pure white wolf that suddenly appeared beside the old goblin.

When they saw this pure white wolf, their hearts completely dropped along with their chins and any trace of hope that they had was completely erased.

Ryu said in a stuttering voice, "Fen…Fenrir!"

This pure white fur, those red eyes void of any emotion, and that layer of frost around it. This wolf could only be the legendary Fenrir, a S Rank Monster!

This was by no means something that their party could face, let alone that it was with a Goblin Emperor…

No matter how they looked at it, this was not something that they could escape from at all.

However, their despair didn't end there…

There was another large booming sound before with an eruption of rubble, a red figure suddenly walked out to the left of the Goblin Emperor.

This was an ogre, but it wasn't a normal ogre. This was an ogre that was much bigger than a normal ogre, with red skin and large horns on its head.

This time it was Chloe that said in a voice filled with despair, "Red Ogre…"

This was another legendary monster that was on par with the Fenrir. This was a S Rank Monster that was considered at the peak of the ogre family.

Just what was going on here?!

Why did all these powerful monsters suddenly show up in this dungeon break?!

How were they even supposed to win like this!?
