Chapter 22: Time to Grow
Ruby was not sure what about what Maxim was trying to tell her. “Do I know who he is?” Ruby asked.
“Yes, do you really?” Maxim asked again.
“Well, he was the man who left me a box of chocolates two years ago, when I officially started with the band.”
“Well, I did not see him then, but I did today,” Maxim said. “I don’t think you’re aware of who he truly is, because he is just as influential as Severin. I also happen to remember that your parents were not so happy about you being involved with high profile, super wealthy men. Is that not so, Ruby?” Maxim stated.
“Is he very wealthy?” Ruby asked in bewilderment. “He does not seem peculiar in any way. In fact, he is rather down to earth,” Ruby explained. She felt uneasy in the knowledge that Maxim and possibly other people on the ship knew Ferrel better than she did. They had connected so easily and she had felt so content about having him around. It was too much to digest right then.
