Chapter 13: Living the Dream
Ruby tried hard not to turn around.
"Good evening, beautiful ladies," Ruby heard a voice which she did not recognize, so she turned around slowly.
A man with elegantly styled, sleek, dark hair and arresting green eyes was standing there, with a gift box in his hands. It looked familiar, because it resembled the boxes of chocolates which Ruby had been receiving. "I would be most pleased if you would receive this as a token of appreciation for your beautiful voice," the stranger said.
Ruby was slightly overwhelmed. She was not used to so much personal attention.
"Excuse me, but Maxim is waiting for me," Lilah said quickly and rushed off. Ruby fleetingly wondered if Lilah had arranged this meeting.
"May I ask how long will you be singing on the ship, because I really enjoyed listening to you," the stranger asked politely.
