Chapter 18of18 The Pack

Nick woke up with a aching back.. of cause the couch could get a bit uncomfortable sleeping on it for many hours, he looked at Zara who was sleeping comfortably on the bed while he was suffering

" Hey.. sleeping beauty, you better wake up we need to to talk," Nick said stretching his body

" Can you be quiet for a second Nick.. I don't have time for this," Zara said turning in bed

" No... Now," he uncovered the sheets off her.. Zara sat up glaring at him

" What's your problem.. can't I get a peaceful sleep in my own room?,"

" No .. I can't let you be sleeping so soundly while I'm breaking my back on that couch, have decided I will take the other side of the bed," Nick said.. Zara chuckled blinking sweetly at him and cutely said

" Oh sweetie.. not happening," Nick crouched down on the bed leaning in.. he held her little chin staring into her eyes," you didn't look for me or try to find out whether they were still others out there instead you shut yourself away.. suddenly you come forward and expect a happy ever after, do you know how alone and neglected I felt.. knowing I was the only one left of my kind, it wasn't easy for me," Zara teared up _ Nick understood her pain and hatred for him.. he couldn't blame her, but if he knew she was out there somewhere he would have set out to find her.. Nick didn't know what to say or do in this situation, she was crying to him.. showing her weakness to him.. she was so vulnerable at that moment, he pulled her in his embrace patting her head gently.. Zara hugged him back sobbing uncontrollably like a little girl, he stayed with her in his arms till she finally stopped crying.. Nick's phone rang a few times before picking up

" What is it?," he answered," we found one of the Pack.. you need to come to Miami," the person said from the other end.. Nick hang up and said to Zara

" I have to leave for a few days," Zara pulled away staring at him

" Uhm_ where to?," she asked

" Miami.. for the past few years have been trying to find if they were others who survived but had no luck, some people I hired to help just called and said they found one," he told her

" I'm coming with you," Zara said getting out of bed

" No.. I have to do this alone," he seriously told her

" I said.. I'm coming with you," Zara was determined and firm with her decision.. Nick could only agree, they took a few things and went downstairs after freshening up.. they came across the family on there way out

" Nick! Are you leaving?," Anna spoke looking at the bag he was carrying

" Just for a few days.. I will tell you about it when we return," he said with a warm kind smile

" So the two of you are leaving?," April looked at Zara who had a serious cold expression

" I will be in the car," Zara told Nick and walked away

" I apologize about her attitude.. see you in a few days," he said and left

" Zach! Can we go shopping.. I'm kinda bored," April cling onto his arm, Zach stared at her little excited face.. how can he say no to that cute face of hers, he nodded and April's smile widened walking away

" Can we watch a movie till they get back?," Anna suggested.. Skylar gave a naughty smirk holding her waist pulling her closer to him," Skylar! We're not alone," Anna blushed

" When did it become a crime to show my wife love and affection?," he teased her cheek with his other hand.. Anna leaned on his chest," what do you think about giving Kai a little sister," he said with a chuckle, Anna playfully pushed him back and said

" Stop fooling around Mr Kinn," she walked into the living room to find a movie to watch, Sky chuckles going after her.

People wouldn't help but stare at Zach and April wherever they went.. they visited many clothing stores and Zach wouldn't complain about her making him walk around, he enjoyed seeing her happy .. he liked it more that she was holding his hand everywhere she went, April led him to another store

" Welcome.. please make yourselves comfortable and our store assistant will assist you right away," the store manager smiled.. they were offered a glass of wine

" Hello.. I'm Alice and I will be assisting you today," she smiled

" Can you show me five collection of your lastest shoes," April said.. Alice nodded and walked away, she brought five white boxes

" These are our latest addition.. they came in this morning from Paris,"

" They're beautiful.. I like the texture," April said picking up a pair, Zach took the heel from her hand.. he bent down on one knee taking off her current shoes, he wore it on her feet tying the stripes around her leg.. he kissed her feet making eye contact, the people in the store stared at them with admiration and smiles, April tucked some hair behind her ear with a blush turning to Alice and said

" It's a perfect fit.. I will take them all," she handed Alice her black card that Zach gave her, Alice took the card and went to pack up her shoes.. she helped them take the shopping bags to their car and they drove off.

~ Miami Florida ~

After dropping off their bags at the hotel.. Nick and Zara went to the address which was sent to them, it was a building close to the alley.. it looked abandoned and creepy

" Stay close," Said Nick.. Zara nodded walking beside him

" Nick!" Someone called out to Nick approaching them

" Hey,"

" She's over here,"

" It's a she?," Nick spoke following after the man

" Hmm.. she was badly wounded on her leg, she was unconscious near the river in south east when we found her," he said leading them in a closed room, Nick approached the girl who was crouched in a corner.. she was a dark skinned pretty girl with curly hair, she looked scared and violet so she was tied.. Nick thought she was probably just trying to protect herself

" Who are you? Why are you keeping me here?," she glared at them

" You're not a hostage," Nick said crouching on her level

" Oh yeah.. I'm tied up in an abandoned building, what do you want me to think?,"

" I'm Nick.. and this is Zara, we're werewolves like you," the woman frowned," what's your name?,"

" Bella, you're not an ordinary werewolf are you?," she said," you're much stronger I feel it.. you're an Alpha," she added

" Tell me Bella.. who attacked you? Are they other werewolves out there?," Zara spoke getting Bella's attention

" How do I trust you? How do I know you're not one of them?," Bella said

" One of them?," Nick repeated

" It was a werewolf that attacked me.. definitely not one of ours, they were three of them.. almost killed me if I didn't make a run for it,"

" How many are you?," Zara spoke

" Ten including myself.. five of them are children, we try everything to protect our pack but where we are isn't safe enough." She said.. Nick and Zara looked at each other

" Listen Bella, we can help you find a safe place to live with the pack," said Nick

" Can I really trust you two?,"

" We only want to protect our kind.. rebuild our clan," Zara said, Bella felt like she could trust them.. Zara untied her helping her up while Nick talked to the men

" Thanks for all your help.. we'll take it from here," he gave them a brown envelope of a payment, they took Bella with them to meet the others.

" Bella! Are you okay?," a woman ran to them taking Bella in her arms

" I will be fine,"

" And who are these two?," two men approached

" They're with me - and one of us, Nick - Zara, meet the pack_ Tony our leader.. Ken, Ella and Maki. " Bella introduced

" Well hello.. you're very handsome - hot. " Maki approached Nick with a naughty smirk tracing his chest with her finger.. Zara cleared her throat looking thee other way

" Behave yourself Maki - you don't wanna scare away our guests," Tony said tending to Bella," Ken, bring me the first aid kit." He added

" Tony I'm fine.. it's not that serious,"

" I'm worried about you, if anything bad happened to you I wouldn't forgive myself," he cupped her cheek.. Bella smiled holding his hand, he treated her wound bandaging her leg," Ella, I'm leaving our guests to you." He added taking Bella to rest

" This way," Ella led Nick and Zara to a comfortable room and offered them something to eat," have prepared a room for you two, freshen up - feel at home and I will see you later," she excused herself

" I see you do love it when women tease and caress you," Zara spoke

" Is that jealousy I hear?," Nick raised a brow _ Zara scoffs with a smug and said

" Why would I be? You're nothing to me," she walked away, Nick bit his lip with a smile watching her walk away.

The pack were introduced and welcomed Nick and Zara.

A week past and Leah and Lucian made their return back home

" Mom! Lucian! Welcome home," Hope embraced them_ Kale and Kami came running downstairs to welcome them

" Oh I missed you so very much my little prince and princesses," Leah showered them with kisses

" Welcome home," Zach said, Lucian gave a slight nod

" How was your school trip, did you have fun?," Leah patted Hope's head

" Very exciting.. we learnt a lot of things and played different games _ it was fun,"

" And you two? Did you have fun spending time with Granny Hazel,"

" Yes.. she's a cool grandma," Leah smiled remembering someone she hasn't seen in a really long time, she turned to the kids and said

" What do you think about visiting your other grandma in Europe this weekend? She will be very happy to see you three all grown up,"

" We have another grandma?," Kami blinked at Leah

" Yes.. her name is Mary and she's Mom's mother," Hope said

" You've met her before?,"

" Yes.. Lucian would take me there for holidays and birthdays, she's super nice." Leah was glad her daughter had a special relationship with her grandmother.. Lucian was kind enough to always take up the time to take Hope to spend time with her grandma

" I really want to meet her mommy," Kami said excitedly, Leah nodded ruffling her hair

" Mommy would like to get some rest now," she said going upstairs, the kids went to play while the guys went to the backyard

" Is Leah okay.. she doesn't look to good?," Skylar spoke

" She hasn't been feeling well for two days now.. she refuses to see a doctor saying it must be due to bad weather," Lucian sighs

" She isn't still pissed with you right," Zach raised a brow.. Lucian pushed his hair back and calmly said

" We're better than before... How are things here?,"

" Well.. my mother insists that the wedding should be held in FALLS at the Castle," Zach gave a helpless sigh

" Why the gloomy face then?,"

" Because nothing ever pleases mother, it will be the most important and happiest day for April.. I don't want it to get ruined because of her,"

" If she wants the wedding to be at the Castle it means she accepts April right," Skylar spoke

" Not quite.. you know how mother is Sky, she always has skeletons hidden in her closet,"

" Did you tell April about it?,"

" She didn't disagree because it's my mother and she at least wants my family to be present, but I could tell she was nervous," he said

April and Anna finished picking up the groceries at the supermarket for tonight's dinner, they put everything in the car and began driving back home

" You look bothered - is everything okay?," Anna said seeing April so lost in her thoughts.. April shook her head staring at Anna and said

" Hey.. you've met both Skylar and Zach's family right," Anna nodded

" Just once.. Skylar thought it would be a good idea to keep my distance,"

" Keep your distance? Why?," April creased her brows now curious to know more about Zach's family

" I wouldn't say their mother is against humans.. she's just against their children getting involved with humans, she was so against me and Skylar being together _ then there's Rosa Kinn.. she was Lucian's lover in Leah's past life, Lucian ended things between them when he met Leah but she was absolutely obsessed with Lucian.. crazy for him that she almost killed Leah, Zach punished her by locking her up in the Castle dungeons - then there's the youngest daughter Sarah Kinn.. she's pretty sweet and kind, different from her mother and sister.. she will love you, there was a second daughter between Rosa and Sarah _ I think her name was Katrina Kinn.. she died a really long time ago,"

" How did she die?,"

" Lucian killed her_ what happened is that Rosa manipulated Katrina into killing Leah.. Lucian got there before anything and killed Katrina, no one could do anything about it.. everything was blamed onto Rosa for being so reckless with her obsession for Lucian,"

" The family sounds really complicated.. no wonder Zach looked so gloomy when he told me about the wedding to be held in FALLS," April looked distressed

" He wants your wedding to be held in FALLS?,"

" Hmm.. it was his mother's decision, I wanted to meet his family so I agreed - but I didn't know they were this complicated, plus I am curious about the famous hidden country.. I would like to explore it," she gave a slight smile

" It's pretty cool.. it's like going back in time were people still don't know about technology _ only a few, and there kind of dressing is aesthetic and magical you know.. it looks so peaceful like a fairytale story in books," they giggled talking more about the place.

Lucian took a glass of warm milk upstairs to Leah

" Have this," he handed her the glass _ Leah sat up taking the glass and took a sip, Lucian sat next to her on the bed cupping her cheek," you look pale wife - we need to go to the hospital," he told her.. Leah touched his hand kissing it and said

" I - Uhm," she bit her lower lip... Lucian could see she was hesitating on her words

" What is it?,"

" Lucian I was on_ I - was on birth control for some days, I didn't want to get pregnant again because the kids are still young, Hope is only ten.. Kami and Kale are only eight and I -_

" You don't have to explain yourself," Lucian cut her off," I completely understand where you're coming from wife.. but please let me take you to the hospital," he told her.. his eyes filled with emotions of concern and worry _ Leah nodded putting her legs down to stand up, she lost her balance falling back down.. Lucian held her in his arms

" I don't feel too good," Leah whispered unable to keep her eyes open - she passed out right after. Leah found herself in the hospital _ she sat up with a groan holding her spinning headache, Lucian entered the room.. a frown settled on his face approaching her

" You should be resting," he laid her back down

" What happened? What's wrong with me?,"

" The doctor took some tests _ you need to focus on recovering," he kissed her forehead

" Mrs Reign, how are you feeling?," the doctor came in with a warm smile

" Weak.. I feel horrible doctor,"

" It's normal in first stages of pregnancy Mrs Reign, it will soon come to pass_ just get a lot of rest and relaxation,"

" Wait what," Leah stared at the doctor confusingly," the must be a misunderstanding doctor I can't be pregnant_ I was taking birth control pills,"

" And how long and regularly have you been taking these pills?," she asked

" Well not to long ago.. three to four days now once a day,"

" And how regularly do you have sex with your husband?," Leah blushed with a hint of embarrassment

" Uhm.. quite regular_ a lot," Lucian smirked at his little wife

" Well with what you've told me the chances of you getting pregnant are quite high Mrs Reign, these pills are supposed to be taken regularly and not missed."

" I see," Leah said

" I will subscribe some medicine and proteins for you," she said leaving them, Lucian sat on the bedside holding her hand

" I know you didn't want this but I promise we'll be the best parents for our kids, I'm happy to receive our fourth child.. I love you," he kissed her forehead.. Leah threw herself in his embrace, after a few more tests Lucian took Leah back home to get some rest _ Lucian spotted Hope at the balcony, he walked over standing next to her

" Why are you here by yourself?,"

" Nothing _ can I ask you something Lucian?,"

" Hmm," Lucian nodded

" Do you think we're freaks? Everyone at school calls me and Kai freaks, they hate us," Lucian looked down at his little girl.. obviously not too happy about what she was saying or thought about herself - he crouched down patting her head and said

" We're not freaks sweetie.. do you know why they say those things?' Hope shook her head," it's because they want to have what you have.. you're very special - we're special and admired, different from ordinary humans.. people who think others are freaks are the real monsters, you're lucky to be born as a half vampire and a half Raven by pure breeds, you're more powerful than you think," Hope smiled feeling more confident about herself," your mother gave me the most beautiful and smart girl like yourself.. I'm very proud of you _ I love you," he smiles - Hope threw her little arms around his neck buring her face in his embrace

" I love you so much Dad,"

" I think you should use Daddy more often than Lucian don't you think," he chuckles.. Hope shook her head simply refusing

" But it's your name isn't it? besides I like seeing you so happy when I call you Daddy every once in a while," she giggles, Lucian loved looking at her little face.. it was like staring at little Leah, her eyes _ smile and nose. Lucian lifted her up in the air playing with her.. Hope giggled having fun

" Hope! Where are you? Let's play hide and seek," Kami called out_ Lucian put her down patting her head gently.. Hope looks up at Lucian and said

" I would really like to know my vampire side and how to go about it, can you teach me,"

" Of course," he smiled.. Hope was filled with excitement, she ran off to play with her little sister and brother with Kai - Lucian proceeded towards the kitchen, the door bell rang and Helen went to answer it

" Helen! I'll answer it_ take up something to eat for Leah.. and give her - her medicine."

" Yes." Helen went back to the kitchen while Lucian opened the door

" Hello, my name's Rory McIlroy.. you must be Mr Reign - Hope's Dad.. I saw you at the sports activity." She introduced smiling seductively at Lucian

" I see." Lucian simply said

" Uhm, this is my daughter Samantha... She wanted a play date with Hope - she wouldn't stop bothering me and I could no longer say no.. you know how unpredictable kids can be." She giggled awkwardly, Lucian stared at the little girl who looked the same age as Hope and Kai _ he stepped aside letting them in, Hope was busy chasing her friends when she saw Sammy and her mom walk into the living room.. she came to a halt staring at them

" Hope, you have a visitor." Lucian spoke - Hope wasn't sure what to do... Her and Sammy were in the same class as Kai but they never spoke to one another _ so it was a bit weird that she was there

" How are you Hope," Rory smiled at her

" Fine,"

" Sammy wanted a play date with you so I brought her, I hope you'll be able to make her your friend and have lots of fun,"

" Hope, why don't you show Samantha around the house and you can continue playing," Lucian spoke.. Hope nodded gesturing for Sammy to go with her

" Rory! What are you doing here?," Anna spoke walking into the living room with April and was surprised to see her there

" Anna, nice to see you _ Sammy wanted a play date with Hope and Kai.. I came to drop her off,"

" Excuse me," Lucian walked away

" It's a long way you must be exhausted - please have a seat," Anna offered... The three of them sat down while Helen served them some drinks

" Your house is very beautiful and luxurious, it's like a mansion." She looked around admiring the house

" Thank you.. Lucian has pretty good taste,"

" Lucian huh, that's Hope's father?,"

" Hmm," Anna nodded," this is my elder sister April.. Zach's fiancee,"

" Yes I saw you together at the kid's school _ a pleasure to meet you.. I see beauty runs in the family." April gave a slight nod," this must be a big family.. have always wanted a big family but I'm the only child and it's just me.. my husband and daughter, how many people live in this house?," she made sure to know every little detail about everyone in the house.. more like she came to gossip

" Fourteen including the kids... But others aren't home."

" It's quite a big family," she took a sip.

Hope took Sammy to the garden were they played tea party with the rest, Sammy always feels nervous whenever she bumped eyes with Kai_ not that she was scared of him.. but because she has a huge crush on him from day one, Sammy always play tea party in her room with her dolls.. she would use fake tea and snacks _ but she liked this tea party more because everything was real and the cookies tastes really good

" These are nice," she said _ Hope smiled giving her more, she's never had a real friend who didn't fear her or what she was.. Sammy looked really comfortable and happy around her and she liked it

" My godfather and Auntie are getting married in a few days.. I would like to invite you to come with," Hope said

" I would love to," Sammy excitedly accepted

" But it won't be held here.. it will be held back home in Mystic Falls _ at the Castle were my Dad - Uncle Zach and Uncle Lucian were raised," Kai spoke

" Mystic Falls? Castle? It sounds like a fairy Land, is your Dad and uncles Princes?." Sammy asked curiously_ Hope shook her head and said

" Just Kai's Dad and my godfather.. they're brothers, my Dad isn't royal but he's someone very respected among the royal family.. he's immortal - meaning he can't die."

" That's so cool.. that means you're prince right Kai," Sammy's eyes shimmered.. Kai simply nodded," I would really like to attend and explore the castle.. but only if my mom accepts - which I highly doubt she'll let me," she sadly said

" Maybe if she comes along she will have no problem you coming with," Kale added

" You're right.. I will have to convince her,"

" And we'll convince our parents," Hope and Kai added.

Zach and Skylar arrived home and was greeted by Rory who looked like she just won a jackpot after seeing them

" April, come." Zach spoke_ April got up and Zach led her away with his hand holding the back of her waistline

" Is Lucian and Leah back?," Skylar spoke

" He's upstairs with Leah .. poor thing is terribly sick." Anna said

" Excuse me." Skylar excused himself and went upstairs

" I hope it's nothing serious," Rory turned to Anna

" There's nothing to worry about," Anna gave reassuring smile

" I don't need your explanation! I don't care." Zara came into the house yelling

" Will you just listen for once woman." Nick was up to here on his throat with her stubbornness _ Zara took out a small dagger that was tied on her thigh positioning it on Nick's throat and said

" Don't - follow me." Her tone was firm and final.. she stepped back going upstairs _ Anna and Rory just watched the entire scene in silence

" Honestly I don't know how you manage to keep up with her." Anna spoke. Nick went to throw himself on the couch next to Anna

" What I do for love." Nick gave a helpless sigh

" Allow me to introduce Rory - Rory... Nick, and that woman earlier is Zara... They're both werewolves." Anna introduced

" Nice to meet you. " Rory smiled hitting on Nick

" Pleasure is all mine.. he winked at her with a charming smirk, she blushed tucking hair behind her ear

" Don't mind him he can be such a teaser." Anna said

" If you excuse me I have a beautiful beast to tame." Nick said getting up and walked upstairs, Rory giggled turning to Anna

" And what relationship do they share with the family?."

" They're close friends."

" I see."

Zara got out of the shower and found Nick leaning on the wall next to the window, his eyes trailed from her head to toe.. seeing her in that short towel stirred up something in him, Zara found herself glued to the floor staring back at him wondering what the hell was going through his mind at that moment.. she looked everywhere in the room apart from his eyes. Nick moved away from the wall approaching her_ each step he took made her take a step back, she came to a standstill cause there was nowhere else to go.. Nick cornered her between him and the wall_ his hands slammed on both sides trapping her, Zara gave him a hard glare that said ' what the hell do you think you're doing? ' without spilling any words out.. her look was enough for him to know what she was saying

" Will you let me talk." Nick spoke raising his brow

" There's nothing to talk about."

" Are you jealous? Because the last time I checked you didn't want anything to do with me_ you didn't want me." He said

" And that doesn't change.. but you need to respect me Nicholas."

" Ufff_ I just love it when you say my full name." He teased.. Zara got even more pissed and pushed him away

" You claim I'm your mate yet you still feel the need to flirt with other women... If you wanted me to look stupid in front of the Pack it worked." She said going to dressing room and shut the door _ Nick sighs running his fingers through his hair

" Women." He murmurs to himself.

April stared at Zach as he told her not to expect much from his family _ even though he didn't tell her much in details she understood what he meant because Anna told her almost everything - she could see the disappointment and shame in his cold eyes _ at least he would show his emotions to her that he couldn't show others.. she was at least happy about that - it meant he trusted her 100%, April touched his face gazing into those dark shinning eyes of his.. she bumped her forehead with his standing on her toes and told him

" It doesn't matter what they think.. as long as I have you and you have me - I love you." Zach held her chin kissing her soft tender lips _ he slowly laid her down on the bed taking off her jeans followed by her panties, April bit her lip as he teased her there ... He positioned himself between her legs, April stopped him and said," aren't we using protection?," she suddenly remembered.. they always use it and it was him that suggested it _ and suddenly he wants it raw. Zach caressed her cheek and said

" We're engaged now and getting married _ if we're going to have a baby we better start now don't you think." April blushed nodding her head innocently, Zach gave a dry chuckle continuing were he left off.

Lucian sat on the couch reading a book when his little kitty cat shifted in bed

" Mm_ Lucian." Leah softly called out to Lucian - Lucian took off his glasses walking to her side of the bed

" I'm right here cupcake _ does your tummy hurt?." He rubs her tummy.. Leah shook her head

" I just want you to hold me." She said in a sleepy tone _ Lucian smiled joining her under the covers - he wrapped his arms around her delicate body

" We can announce the news to everyone at dinner what do you think?."

" The kids will be so happy to be getting a little sister or brother. " She said slowly drifting to sleep, Lucian kissed her hair snuggling closer.

It was getting quite late and Rory called out for Sammy so they can be on their way

" Come on Sammy _ you can visit once again some other time."

" Mommy! Hope and Kai just invited us to the wedding, it will be at the Castle can we please go.. I would love to see it." Sammy said

" Castle?." Rory creased her brows

" Well the wedding will be held in MYSTIC FALLS.. it's a hidden country not a lot of humans know about it, my husband and everyone else originated from there." Anna explained

" Kai's Dad and uncle are princes that's why the wedding will be held at the Castle.. can we go." She was so excited and happy _ Anna smiled at her adorable face

" Well honey it's -_

" It's alright Rory, Sammy really wants to come and you should come along with her." Anna told her

" Won't that be a problem I mean we're outsiders."

" You're my guest.. I will keep you updated." Rory smiled turning to Sammy and said

" We should go now before Dad gets worried,"

" Yes, bye." Sammy waved at her new friends... Anna showed them out saying goodbye.

April helped Anna with dinner and setting of the table, everyone came down and took their place around the dinner table_ Lucian cleared his throat standing up

" I would like to make an announcement tonight because it's a special day and night.. Anna, dinner looks amazing."

" I helped too." April cleared her throat.. everyone chuckled and Lucian praised her too

" Leah and I would like to tell everyone that we are expecting our fourth baby _ my wife is pregnant." He said.. everyone looked happy apart from Zara which was expected, the kids were excited and filled with joy

" Congratulations Leah." Zach said with a slight smile

" Thank you."

" Congratulations." Followed by everyone else including Zara who didn't seem to cheerful, they raised their glasses to the good news. After dinner _ Lucian took Leah upstairs to rest, and later tucked the kids into their beds switching off the lights

Zara changed into her nightwear lying down in bed _ Nick also changed lying on the left side of the bed

" You okay? you didn't talk much over dinner." Nick spoke

" What were you expecting.. Laughing and chatting with everyone pretending to like each other?." She switched off the lights to her side going to sleep, Nick stretched out his hand but paused midway.. he just let her be turning off the light.

" I'm so happy for both Leah and Lucian.. they deserve to be happy." Anna said jumping in bed like a little kid.. Sky joined her kissing her and said
