7. Bad Act

Deep down in Naya's heart, she could not stop thinking over the hill she saw, such a hill cannot disappear into the tiny air, it is more colorful than what the eyes can't spot at a sight.

How can it just go hidden?

"You know Nick, if not for my gear I forgot here, I would have seen to the end of that mountain."

Nick did not bother to give a reply since Naya has turned that into a song, she has been mulling about it quietly and loudly since they left the Terubial sea,

Now, Nick's hearings are dead to it.

Faster, he rushes into the bamboo forest, careless of whether Naya just asked him a question or not, he is simply sophisticated.

Though Nick was tempted to believe her since Naya has never mulled over a word especially if it was a joke, however, he can't just make himself believe what she proclaimed to see.

A mountain can't disappear.

"Worry less about the mountain. We can still sort it out later, we are late beyond your sluggishness Naya!"

He stopped by the front of a big stone with several fresh bamboo branches leaning against it.

"If you can mind, join me so we could be faster," He started removing those bamboos away from the stone.

Instead, Naya fold her arms watching him, "I'm disappointed you don't believe me,"

Nick was a bit shocked by what she said, his hand paused for some seconds, Naya should be the least to say that to him, however, If this will make them even...

Yes! He won't believe her.

She did not have confidence in him either.

Nick signal to her with raised brows for her to enter the open space created after removing the bamboo, Naya stood pompous as if she did not know what he meant,

"Will you go inside and change before I leave you here?"

Nick sneer instead, still unmoved, "You can't just believe me for once?"

"I've always believed you... Just that this one is different... We've walked to the end of the beach not once... Have you ever come across a hill? This is the reason you should know I can't believe you."

Naya cursed underneath her breathe, she has a reason for it earlier but why was her mind not feeling satisfied? Or her eyes can't just hide what they saw?

She rushes inside and comes out after a while, "You know we should find another hideout... This is why am more concerned."

She justified to see Nick's reaction but he entered without giving his reply. After a while, he comes out. "What's the point?" He asked simply.

Naya hold back, "Why did you say that?"

Nick starts packing the bamboo he removed earlier to place them back, "We will become adults in two full-moon times when we will have lots on our plates, what's the essence of finding a new hideout?"

Naya was out of the word to justify more, Nick is right, in their kingdom, adulthood starts from 20 years of age and since they are immortal, their rate of aging paused till they turn 6,000 years, at that age, they will start aging.

Likewise, that age 20 their responsibilities started, the female child must foresee her mate while the male will have to start catering for his future alongside the kingdom's well-being.

"We will no longer have all these chances again, what's the point of mulling over a mountain?" frustrations dance all over him.

He seems more hurt for no reason, he can't be thinking of being a child forever right? Naya thought with sympathy.

She walks gently, at this stage she should be more determined and be aware she is unlike them, therefore, she has no sight to foresee a mate.

Maybe she will spend the rest of her life being single?

Soon, they reach their secret pathway which leads into the palace, it was made of a rectangular tunnel, usually cover by brisk at both ends.

Naya crawl inside before Nick follows, at the other point that leads into the palace, she catches sight of someone peeping at her at the end, the face is familiar but she did not want to believe it.

"Ellie! That's you?!"

She peeps up to see Ellie, immediately she was assured, she retrieved and crawl backward but Nick hit her harder as Naya push him on the head.

Ellie with partially folded arms wave twice her hand to make her crawl out, "Don't think of going back I saw you already"

"Yeeesss!" Naya skeptically crawls out.

She step away from Ellie, rambling her gaze on the floor as if she had lost something,

"Gosh!" Ellie scoffed in disgust to see her being tortured by her conscience.

"You are being tormented?"

"Hi...ii!!! Ellie..." Nick drooled on his voice waving his hand to her. It caught him off guard as well.

Ellieanna was their third, she know their in-and-out. Ever since she interpreted Naya's name, King Lippana has kept her within his grasp, she grew up along with her children and explored the life of royalty, likewise, through Ellie, his father gained upper hand with the king, he become one of the King's men, later, his post was officially put in rank as a Chief of security, since his family trait are the one in charge of Vanaria eggs. They are meant to be the guardian of the eggs, therefore, their post Is genetically heritable within the family members.

Ellieanna has two other brothers but is not licensed to enter the palace.

"Ellie, not like that," Naya whispered with slight confidence to stare at her.

It has been almost a week since they last saw Ellie, knowing she has never skipped a day without visiting the palace, yet, neither of them visit her to know why she was away.

This is quite disappointing.

"Do you guys consider me a friend at all? How could you not ask of me for once?"

Naya could not wait for her to continue, whenever she borne that terrifying face, tears might flow down unknowingly. Her heart is very fragile when it comes to things hurting her.

Indeed their act is bad, they are aware but seems the time flies faster to have turned out to be a week.

Naya was speechless, Nick quickly chip in, "Ellie, not what you think, we tried to come to your place but..." He whined his head over what to say,

This annoying Ellie the more, she wouldn't wait to withstand his excuse when she knew it is silly, she interrupt him abruptly, "You forget because your schedules were to roam around the town!"

Nick swallows down his protest.
