The atmosphere in the small glass house was tense. Lily glared at Asher, who stared back at her with a stunned gaze. Lily's heaving chest was just returning to normal when a loud thunderstorm tore through the sky, bringing with it a bright lightning bolt cutting across the sky. Their attention was briefly shifted towards the quick light show before settling back on each other. Asher was still speechless, but Lily decided that she had to leave.
It took a little longer to turn around, but by the time she did, the sky had opened up to release its tears. It started to rain. "Fuck!" Lily cussed under her breath, her eyes lifted to watch the rain fall from the dark clouds that she didn't know had gathered.
Faced with the option of sitting with the man she had just yelled at, or battling with the rain and her crutches, to make her way back into the mansion, Lily stood still with her back to Asher.
