I can see the confusion in Kati's eyes, and it hurts me down to the bone that I am going to have to crush her world. Not only am I crushing her world, but I am breaking the trust that she has in the man she loves, her husband. A man that she has known from her very early teenage years, a man that was let in her home and was a good and dear friend to her brother.
But this man has a secret, and her brother soon found out about that secret.
So I lead her to the chairs on the corner of the porch, where the sun is only but starting to speckle through. I do not know if it is my hand that is trembling or that of her own. Perhaps hers is more out of fear for me, while mine is out of fear for telling her a secret that has been haunting me for years.
