Sadness creeps upon me like a mist,
A shroud that covers my heart in a twist,
A weight that pulls me down to the ground,
A pain that makes the world spin round and round.
It's in the tears that fall from my eyes,
And the sighs that escape from my lips,
It's in the silence that fills up the air,
And the emptiness that grips my soul with care.
It's in the memories that haunt me still,
And the moments that I wish I could kill,
It's in the hurt that won't seem to fade,
And the love that I've lost, a debt never paid.
Sadness is a storm that rages within,
A tempest that tears at my heart and skin,
It's a darkness that shadows my every step,
And a burden that I cannot seem to shed.
But even in the midst of this pain,
I know that the sun will rise again,
And the clouds will clear to reveal the sky,
And the warmth of hope will bring joy to my eye.
So I hold on to the promise of peace,
And I take comfort in moments of release,
For though sadness may come, it shall also go,
And the light of happiness will once again glow.
