I need to know what happened. Because this is a totally different Dace Devereaux... completely different from who I encountered before. What happened in Costa Rica and is Emma okay? I need to know. But I have a feeling I know just about half of it.
"That's a good enough answer for me," he said, keeping his stern gaze on me still waiting for me to mess up. Dace is grim and his aura only makes it worse, to be honest. But I know how to stand my ground. I won't make it if I cower in his presence, he will only use it as leverage.
