I noticed Dace's muscles flexed. "I will tell her myself" he spoke through clenched teeth.

"Of course, forgive my rudeness, Emma"
"I-I understand, you don't like humans and I'm… I'm a human dating your son, it's not something that should be taken lightly. It's an edge of a blade" I spoke more than I intended to, maybe it was because I felt like melting in my seat.
And then a pearl of laugh burst off him, Emilia snorted a laugh.
"Emilia!" her mom snapped at her.
"What? She's funny" her eyes darted to mine. "And I think she's growing on me"
