Gray’s POV
As Glen pulls the car to a stop on the sidewalk outside of Jasmine’s apartment, I don’t take my eyes off the house across the street. While the door opposite opens and closes with a loud bang, and Jasmine’s shrill voice fills the car, I simply focus on the large pine tree sitting in the middle of the freshly cut lawn.
The sun is beginning to set low on the horizon, casting a soft glow of pastel colors across the Los Angeles skyline, creating a beautiful painting. If I weren’t having to go on a date with Jasmine tonight under Lucy’s direction, I would’ve sat on my balcony and watched the sunset with a glass of whisky. But no, Lucy just had to ruin my evening.
“Are you seriously not gonna talk to me, Gray?” Jasmine’s voice breaks through my thoughts.
I don’t turn to her as I speak. “Nope.”
Jasmine huffs out a scoff and shuffles in her seat. “A*shole.”
