After pulling off such a bold and cunning move, Aaron couldn't help but feel elated. Having gained a significant advantage, his mood was at an all-time high.
Back at his residence, impatience gnawed at him. The sealed state he had acquired now demanded his full attention—it was time to delve into its mysteries with the power of his "Omniscience and Omnipotence."
Sitting cross-legged on the floor, Aaron placed the sealed state across his lap. Slowly, he ran his fingers over the blade, channeling his focus as he activated his ability. The surrounding spiritual particles began to respond to his intent, subtly fluctuating in resonance with the sealed state.
Before long, Aaron entered a state of profound introspection. Through the lens of his "Omniscience and Omnipotence," the sealed state's intricate spiritual composition unraveled before his eyes, revealing its origins.
What he saw astonished him.
Within the slender blade, he discerned a terrifyingly vast and potent power. Despite his attempts to harmonize his own Reiatsu with the sealed state, all efforts at resonance failed. The reason was clear—his current Reiatsu was insufficient to unlock the sealed state's full potential. Simply put, he was not yet capable of achieving Shikai.
Though unsuccessful, Aaron's attempt was far from fruitless. Two crucial insights emerged.
First, the essence of the sealed state's spiritual core was evolution. While the sealed state served as a Zanpakutō's prototype, its ultimate form would embody attributes unique to its wielder. Iconic Zanpakutō like Yamamoto Genryūsai's Ryūjin Jakka, Aizen's Kyōka Suigetsu, or Kurosaki Ichigo's Zangetsu bore this truth. Each Zanpakutō's soul developed in alignment with its owner's character and desires.
It was no wonder that every Shinigami who awakened their sealed state wielded a Zanpakutō as unique as their own soul.
Aaron mused, "If the Shinigami are the creators, then the sealed state and Zanpakutō are worlds crafted by them through Reiatsu."
The idea was profound, yet left many mysteries unanswered. The essence of a Zanpakutō's soul reflected its creator's heart—but what determined its nature? That was still unclear. A thousand Shinigami could forge a thousand different worlds.
Second, he realized the limitations of his research. Despite his "Law of All Things Breathing," which allowed him to sense and analyze the spiritual essence of objects, he couldn't identify any flaws in the sealed state. This revelation underscored its impeccable craftsmanship. If such flaws existed and could be exploited in battle, wouldn't it render every Shinigami defenseless?
This thought deepened Aaron's admiration for Nimaiya Ōetsu, the "Sword God." After all, every sealed state in existence was born from Ōetsu's unparalleled skill. Whether he crafted them entirely by hand or used some mysterious medium remained unclear, but the sheer scale of his achievements commanded respect.
"Still, I can't stop striving for the ultimate," Aaron resolved. "One day, I'll need to consult the Sword God himself. He must have realized by now that I tricked him."
Recalling Ōetsu's excitement at "discovering treasure," Aaron couldn't suppress a wry smile.
Meanwhile, in the Phoenix Palace of the Zero Division, Nimaiya Ōetsu stared at the broken branch in his hand with a dazed expression.
"How is this possible?"
For the legendary Sword God, the realization stung—he had been thoroughly duped.
"This has to stay between me and this branch," Ōetsu muttered. "If the others find out, they'll never let me hear the end of it!"
Yet, despite his embarrassment, his mind raced with questions. "How did that brat manage it? Cutting an iron sword with a branch… If I tell anyone, they'll think I've lost my mind."
He had personally inspected the broken iron sword. Although it was no masterpiece, it was still steel—a material no mere branch should be able to sever.
"What's stranger," Ōetsu mused, "is that his Reiatsu was ordinary. There was no leak, no fluctuation. Then… could it have been raw physical strength? But even Yamamoto couldn't achieve such a feat with pure power!"
The encounter left Ōetsu baffled. That young man was an enigma, and the more he thought about him, the more intrigued he became.
"I need to find him again," Ōetsu resolved. "There's something extraordinary about that kid."
Back at his residence, Aaron continued his research. Moving to his backyard, he began meditating on the "Law of All Things Breathing," immersing himself in its resonance.
As he fell deeper into his thoughts, a clear, melodic voice called out from beyond the backyard wall. It pulled him back to reality, leaving him wondering who had sought him out.
