Chapter 6 - Plans
Later that night, under the castle…
One figure stood in a dimly lit room while another sat at a table. These figures were King Andy and Glenn; his second right hand man who was his chief informant.
"Still no movement from Grimdale?"
"No sire. They seem to be eerily quiet."
"Mm. They have been too quiet for so long. What do you propose we do Glenn?"
"Your Majesty, we both know how cunning Murdock is; I personally think it will be wise to be on our guard against threats from both outside and within. There is always a possibility that he will use those close to you to get to you."
"That is the problem. We cannot know who is in cahoots with that swine until the last moment. He is good at covering up his tracks. We can only hope it won't be too late by the time we find out."
"That is indeed true Your Majesty. In that case, I will keep trying to see what I can uncover. I will send word once I have news."
"Alright then Glenn. Inform me on any movement from the West. I really hope we do not have to go to war."
"As you wish, Your Majesty."
King Andy returned to his chambers that night and relayed the information to his wife.
"How was it darling?" Queen Martha asked.
"Same as always. Murdock seems to be taking his time for whatever plot he is cooking up. I have this foreboding and uneasiness that the danger is much closer than we think."
"Worry not darling. Everything will be fine. I am sure that if Glenn gets any information, you will be the first to know."
"I hope so. Right now, I don't know who I can trust. Our family needs to be kept safe."
"We will be fine my love. Come, let us sleep. Our son will be going for his test tomorrow and I can't have you sleeping in now can I?"
"Alright then. I'll listen to you and put my mind at ease."
"As you should."
The next day…
There was a bustling crowd in front of the tower of talent due to the fact that different parents were getting their children's talent tested today. More than 30 children were lined up in front of the talent stone.
