No One Wants to See Akira

Seeing him look at her like that she shifted her gaze and said coldly "What! Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You are stupidly brave. You don't even know him yet you are willing to sacrifice your all for him?"

"What does that matter. I can't just sit around a watch a good man fall like that. Besides it's my duty so allowing me to fulfil my duty as an officer"

"And how do you plan on doing that exactly?"

"Silver Coated Bridge" Hearing those three words, Rochester's heart almost jumped out of his chest. He looked at her like she was the craziest person he had ever met.

Silver Coated Bridge is not known to many in the new generation but the few that know think of it as a book due to its name but in fact, it wasn't. Out of the few that know of it, even fewer knew about what exactly it was.

Silver Coated Bride is a programme that functions like a virus but isn't a virus. It operates like an airborne disease that moves from person to person except this time it moves from device to device. In the entire history of Camcot, it was only used once and it turned the whole city into chaos. Nobody could you their devices for twenty-four hours.

In that time, it actually took less than an hour to spread to the whole city. Not even hardcore black hats were spared from the invasion. The origin of the programme has never been found not to mention the one who created it. The reason it is so named was because a silver bridge appeared on the infected devices for the full twenty-four hours.

However, it had another use. It could display information the attacker wants for as long as is needed. Using this method, she could display whatever information she wants for as long as she wants thereby spreading the truth about the issues concerning Akira.

"You…" Rochester was speechless. He didn't think anyone was bold enough to suggest such a thing. Since the culprit of that attack was never found, her suggesting it could only mean one thing.

"You don't need to know about how I will do it. Now stop wasting time are you in or not?"

"If it's the only way to prove his innocence, then count me in" he managed a smile.

"Good. Then I will contact you at the right time" she smiled and stepped out of the car. She typed into her phone before she departed.

Days went by, then months then years and after seven years, a man whose face had been drained of colour was tossed into an alley. He was completely covered by bruises from head to toe and a few scars on his back. He was only in shorts without any shoes nor socks. His hair looked muddied with dry blood it almost looked like he had red hair. He looked really wretched and seeing him, one would think he hadn't eaten for ages. He was skin and bones.

The man struggled to his feet and dragged his bruised body to take shelter behind a trash can. When he was in prison, he was informed that his house had been destroyed by fire and his friend had been transferred to another lab in another country. He had nowhere to go and nothing to eat so he thought "I have some friends around who would at least give me a place to stay and something to eat. Let me go see them, maybe they would help me out"

Thinking so, he dragged himself away from the alley and headed to towards a house. He covered himself with a blanket he found revealing only his face so no one recognizes him. He reached the house and reached out to press the bell. Soon a man about forty stepped out of the house and peered at him with a frown. Seeing how dirty the man before him was, he did not bother to be polite towards him "Get out of here before I call the police you filthy thing" he roared.

"Jessy it's me Akira" Akira quickly said before the man could close the door. The man seemed surprised when he heard him but he didn't show it and instead frowned really deeply. Looking at him with disdain, he asked "What are you doing here?"

Akira was surprised by the way Jessy acted. He didn't even invite him in but rather questioned him dismissively as if saying "You shouldn't be here so why have you come?". But being the one that needed help, Akira was not offended by what he said. Instead, he had a wry smiled and spoke to him calmly. "Jessy you know my predicament. I have nowhere else to go so I was wondering if I could crash here for a few days to figure things out. I promise I won't stay for long two days would do"

Jessy looked at him and feigned sympathy. "I would love to help Akira but I'm sorry. You know we are also cramped in here and wouldn't have any place for you to stay…" before he finished Akira quickly said "The couch would do or even on the floor or basement"

"I really would like to help Akira but I don't have the means to how about you go somewhere else? Maybe Felicia may be able to help" he said dismissively. He obviously didn't want Akira to remain near his place for long. He had to do everything he could to drive him away.

Akira looked at him with regret after all his success was due to Akira's help. But now that he was in need, he was being casted away. "Then can I borrow your phone for a moment?"

"I'm sorry" he said and quickly closed the door locking it at the same time. His action just now surprised Akira very much as he was the one he had the highest hope of staying with but now he realised it was just his delusions. Akira didn't bother to stay there for long. He went on one by one to the all those he called friends but they all rejected him in a similar manner.

He even gathered the courage to knock on a few doors but he was beaten by some while other tossed water on him. The Akira that was once love by these very people was now hated by them. He had thought of going to the orphanage but thinking back at what happened decided against it. With Rochester being in another country and no one offering him a phone to even make a call, he had no choice but to go back to the alley he was dumped to take refuge near the dumpster he left.
