Havoc

Rex comes to a stop seeing a large number of androids wreaking havoc as they make their way inward. Seeing him, they divert their attention and begin to incessantly shoot at him. The combined momentum of the whizzing bullets drives him backwards with the force of a battering ram smashing into a steel door thus smashing him into an overturned car which he quickly takes cover behind.

"Man, that was close. What kind of guns are those anyway?" Inspecting his armor, he notices dents in it which came as a surprise since it hasn't happened before.

"What the hell? Did they just manage to heavily dent my armor with this trivial attack? This is going to be really troublesome even for me. I guess Compound E isn't as indestructible as it's passed off to be"

The androids begin closing in on him still firing into the car causing it to push further back. "I really wanted to save this for when I encounter tougher androids. I guess I have no choice". He stands and with as much effort as he could produce hurls the car he is hiding behind towards the incoming androids scattering those very close.

<Rex's upgrade: Hermes><Enhanced Combat Mode activated> is displayed in his HUD. He zooms into the android army heading towards him leaving a purple streak of light and driving his hands through one's chest like a knife through butter, rips it apart and using its gun as a bat takes another's head off.

Reaches for his thigh with his hands, pockets containing disc grenades open up allowing disc grenades to drop into each hand and without the least bit of hesitation, tosses them to his side destroying the groups of androids swarming him from those directions. He grabs one by the legs as it's midair and spinning like a tornado destroys all the androids around him, before finally hurling it into another oncoming group.

"Hey, boss" Gideon's voice booms in his ears.

"Gideon! How are we looking on the coast? Are more androids still coming in?"

"Their numbers have reduced; the military has taken control of the situation at the coast but there are still lots of them in the city"

"Alright then, let's get serious"

Androids are dispersed around into bits as the artillery unit arrives on the scene. Kemper is running them over at top speed as Leah pushes a button and a screen pops out of the dashboard. She arms all the weapons and directs them toward the androids before them. Starting with a gatling gun, she opens fire on them and with loud clanging noises, they are scattered around.

Hammer Fist punches an android and using its body as a shield runs towards another. He throws the damaged android body as a distraction and knees the attacking androids head off. "Ouch! that was painful. Silent Samurai how many of these nuisances of androids is there; they just keep coming"

"I have no idea" he answers splitting an androids gun along with it from the head down.

"I didn't sign up for this"

"You are not planning on backing out are you?"

"like I can. These things are really annoying, it's like being chased by a swarm of bees"

Silent Samurai takes off his jingasa and throws it like a shuriken. It takes off one's head and gets stuck in another's chest. Hammer Fist pulls it, takes off one's arm and head off and throws it back to Silent Samurai who is in midair. He catches it and slams it into another's chest, splitting it in two. He stands and puts it back on.

"We are done here Gid, where to next?"

"Two blocks ahead" Gideon says.

"Got it"

"Silent Samurai I'm thirsty"

"Huh! who gets thirsty in a situation like this?"

"I do!" Hammer Fist exclaims.

"You are unbelievable"

Death Stalker throws two Shurikens upwards behind himself as though it were a boomerang and sliding past an android takes off the legs of the one behind it and splits it in half diagonally. Its upper body slides off to the ground as did the other half. He runs and jumps towards one, stabbing it right in the middle of the head and rips it apart. The two Shurikens strike the one he slides past as it turns to attack, exploding it to bits.

Someone races past him and shoots an android in the eye then picking its gun, shoots two others approaching and using their bodies to spring up, flips and attaches a disk grenade to the head of another approaching. She turns and shoots it multiple times before it explodes.

"Owl! You are back. How was the mission?"

"Well it didn't go too well"

"So you couldn't secure the entrance?"

"Well we kinda did and didn't"

"Well which one is it?"

"Forget that for now. We got to move to the next location"

"You sure you want to move to the next location?" Death Stalker asks

"Yeah, why?"

"It's just you look tired"

She smiles and replies "I'm not, it's just… …I'm still trying to process all of this. It was just so unexpected"

"Yeah. I guess somethings don't change"

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing let's get going"

"Yeah, let's move" she says and they race on ahead.

Rex jumps and strikes a grenade flying towards a chopper back down.

"Boss, you got civilians under attack in that building on your right" Gideon informs.

He turns and runs towards it. "You seem to always be in my ears. What about the others?"

"They are holding up pretty well, also Owl is back"

"Okay great"

As he is running towards the building, a lady falls off after walking to the edge to avoid being mowed down by the attackers. He speeds up and catches her mid-air thus crashing into a lower floor of the building.

"Madam are you okay?" he enquires.

"Yes, I'm fine but there are still others up there".

He lets her down "Don't worry ma'am I've got them"

He jumps out and then proceeds to the floor she dropped from. As he lands there an android attacks him. He punches it and throws it out then proceeds to take out the other three.

"It's okay quickly exit the building" he says to those there as they appear to be fine.

He scans the rest of the building.

"Boss, the parking lot, next building to the left"

"Civilians?"

"None but their attack..."

"I got it" he cuts him and jumps into the parking lot on the 8th floor of the next building. He pulls out a string and runs towards them amidst their gunfire. He attaches the string to them as he makes his way swiftly through them. They get dragged along with him as he jumps out of the building without any chance to resist. Holding the end of the string, he slams them into the ground thus rendering them useless.

A few feet below, a car is flipped as bullets perforate its tires. It somersaults and crashes into a building. The loud bang draws Rex's attention toward the vehicle. He rushes over and rips off the car's doors, pulling out the two occupants and getting them away from the street. They cough badly and sit up.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, you can leave us here. Go carry on" the man says.

"Reinforced car. Good choice major" Rex says and races off.

"How'd he... hughhh never mind"

"Sir, that's one of them, why did you let him go?" the young lady by him enquires.

"This is not the time for that Trudy. Besides, I couldn't even if I wanted to. Come on let's go".

He helps her up and they move away from there.
