Exodia 43: Infinite Ephialtes

Gilheld soared through the air, unable to move a muscle. That strike had temporarily made him unable. Weissmann followed, leisurely.

As he flew through the air, his hands were in his pockets and a smile stayed on his face.

He was calm.

Weissmann looked ahead of them; Gilheld was going to land hard on a skyscraper floor. The principal gradually slowed down, letting Gilheld land unsafely.

The man landed after, on his feet.

As Weissmann landed, voices started murmuring. They landed in a work busy place.

Beforehand, Weissmann did not want to let the entire city know about Valhalla, that is why he wanted to the school premises.

However, he got slightly over-excited and sent his enemy flying. This was also because Gilheld was better than Weissmann expected.

"Please, all of you, get out of here! He's a criminal! The leader of an evil organisation. Please run!"

Weissmann pleaded, unwillingly.

Weissmann thought that there were too many to kill off at the same time and it would be too obvious if he blamed it all on Gilheld.

The people cleared out instantly, leaving only the two of them in the office room.

During that time, Gilheld was able to recover and stand his ground.

"I'm fucking pissed..."

He muttered, gaining some power from the people's fear.

"Why?"

Weissmann spoke, intrigued.

"At this point, I'm not even the real villain. It's you. The moment we landed here, you thought about slaughtering everyone in this room, right?"

"Of course."

The principal admitted as if a good thing.

"Now, that I've determined the true nature of your Singularity. I'll steal."

He said, pointing at Gilheld.

"True nature? This? Hardly."

"Then show me."

"I will when my life is in danger."

The ash-blonde man grinned eerily as he rushed toward Gilheld. Their fists met.

Gilheld felt a weird jolt through his bones. It was like his strike had been returned to him.

Even so, he did not back down.

They clashed with a series of punches and kicks, each strike hurting Gilheld more and more, Weissmann lowered himself and swung underneath with his leg. With a hop, Gilheld avoided. He followed up with a guillotine kick. The principal avoided that.

As he clenched his fists, iron shards randomly grew on his hand. They were no bigger than a pill.

Weissmann swung his fist upwards, aiming at Gilheld's chin. By a hair's breadth, Gilheld leaned backwards, barely avoiding the punch. His chin was cut.

As he leaned back, he saw a huge opening.

Aiming at the exposed Gilheld, he chanted.

"My flaring rage, burn; Hellfire!"

Red flames spawned on Weissmann's hand. Even Weissmann would not survive if he let the flames spread. In his other hand, he formed his ice blade and sliced off his hand without a hint of hesitation.

Gilheld swallowed his saliva.

"Monster... You have a healing Singularity too, don't you?"

"No, I don't. Though my servant, Ophelia, does."

Gilheld grimaced.

He did not like that the opportunity of a lifetime showed and was wasted instantly. The man thought of something else.

His trump card.

Though, if he were to try and use it, Weissmann would instantly be able to sense how dangerous it would be.

Gilheld had to use his move when Weissmann would be mentally, not physically, weak. As it was now, it would be impossible for that to happen. Weissmann has not shown a single sign of weakness since the battle started.

Of course, he showed openings but those are different from weaknesses.

A weakness is something that could be exploited and completely crush someone's enemy. Currently, Gilheld believes that he has no weakness, but he also believes that anything is possible against a crazy opponent such as Weissmann. That statement applies even more due to Weissmann's different Singularities.

What Gilheld needed was a moment where he could dive at Weissmann and touch his forehead with enough time to say the name of the move, otherwise, it will not work.

If Weissmann only had a single Singularity, then it would be easier, however, the scarred man knows that Weissmann has not shown all of his cards yet.

He may have a Singularity which summons blades from his body, for example.

Gilheld restarted his assault.

"Sharpen your inferno; Infernal Spike!"

The man reached the ground and touched it smoothly. Weissmann swiftly activated his Absolute Defense.

A flame spike emerged from the ground, trying to pierce through Weissmann's Absolute Defense. Unlike the Dragon Flare spell, Infernal Spike was a more concentrated and contracted spell. It was as hot as lava while as hard and sharp as iron.

As long as Gilheld kept channelling mana into the spell, it would keep on going.

"Remember what you said to me?"

Gilheld started. Weissmann grit his teeth.

"Absolute Defense is a Singularity which protects you from anything for 10 seconds. If I hold out for more than 10 seconds, then I'll be able to hit you. Ah, it also seems like..."

The man pointed at the principal.

"You can't use more than one Singularity at a time."

The next second, the Absolute Defense disappeared and the spike lunged toward Weissmann.

The ice blade appeared in his hand, he put it under him, to block the Infernal Spike. With his strength, he was able to push himself upwards, at the cost of breaking the ice blade. He would not be able to use it for a day.

"What... You..."

Weissmann whispered.

He glanced at the top of the Infernal Spike. Gilheld was already jumping toward Weissmann with his hand out.

Instinctively, Weissmann used his arm to block himself, but a finishing blow to the chest was not what Gilheld was looking for.

He gripped Weissmann's forehead.

"Infinite Ephialtes."

He muttered.

"AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!"

A blood-curdling scream came from Weissmann as he collapsed onto the floor. Gilheld landed on the floor, collapsing onto his backside.

He was breathing heavily.

"Infinite Ephialtes. My trump card. A trump card which makes the receiver repeat their worst nightmare infinitely. Usually, most die after seeing their nightmare 10 times. Let's see how long it will take you, Weissmann..."

Volume Title drop!

I'll make up for the days I lost by writing extra chapters. When I actually can...
