Twenty-Eight

Charlie, Vincent, Rose and Snow listened uncomfortably as Lucinda and Ash argued while they all sat at the conference room table. After they had returned to the castle the hunters were thanked for their help, told to keep Ash’s secret and were dismissed until their next meeting time. Ash had explained what she did and admitted to dragging everyone into the dangerous plan. Rose stated that she was eager to help. Snow, Vincent and Charlie agreed. Anabelle was happy that Lucinda was safe. Lucinda had healed, not completely, but enough to chastise Ash.

“Why can’t you just stay put? You waltzed right into a trap.” Lucinda said.

“What was I supposed to do? Let them keep torturing you until they killed you? Because whether it was to draw me out or not they wouldn’t have stopped. She was going to try and use you to free Crona!”

“You want to talk to me about torture? After what you pulled with Clara?” Lucinda said crossing her bandaged arms.

Charlie turned to Ash. “What did you do?”
