Ash tossed and turned in her bed unable to get comfortable. She had decided to close the shop and helped the Altin girls get home. Then she and Alexandra went home with two dogs from the pack of strays and spent the rest of the afternoon washing and feeding them. She was running on fumes by time dinner came around, but now it was like she couldn’t keep her eyes closed.
She sat up in frustration. She couldn’t understand what was agitating her. Taking a deep breath she focused on how quiet her room was, until she felt a buzzing in her ears. This was about her powers.
She stood up and let her legs guide her to her vanity where the black and white pocket watch rested among her make-up and jewelry. She reached for it feeling the buzzing get louder until she grabbed it and was instantly transported somewhere dark and damp.
She blinked looking around the room. It was a stone chamber of some kind. “When am I?” she asked tiredly.
