I'd soon finished from the navy academy. The options we had was to either proceed to the navy or take our knowledge and use it in more lucrative means like working for commercial ship owners as a captain. I felt at peace having learned to survive at sea.
I didn't have the intention of doing it for the money. It was my passion and I intended to see it through. My scores were the best in my set and I soon graduated to being a captain in the navy. We had so many missions together which went on for three extra years after I was done with the academy. I tried to impress my perception of the sea to the coming students but no one seemed to be able to fully share my passion. After three years, I was finally going home. I loved the sea but I wouldn't mind some peace and quiet now. It was time for a change and that was what I did. I got back home and was determined to enjoy the peace and quiet for now.
