Chapter - 10
Deal
Liliana was grateful for it because she couldn't afford these at the time and promised to buy few as soon as her salary comes in her account. She knew Samantha would not let her return those dresses back to her saying she would need those, of course Lily wasn't a fool to spend her entire salary in buying a few dresses and not save anything for other bills she was yet to settle.
In the morning while she was a little suspicious of the size, she thought to give it a try in night but since she was exhausted from the entire day of finishing her assignments that she had to submit before the weekend, she decided to set an early alarm for the morning so she could try them and decide which one was the best to be worn on her first day. In the morning she woke up at time but, the pain in her lower belly has spread in her whole body, if not for the office she wouldn't have left her bed at all.
While she decided to go with a white pencil skirt and a silk peach shirt to go with a white blazer to complete her look, she noticed that the skirt as barely reaching her lower thighs. Lily's body shape was more of an hourglass shape with curves that adorned her at all the right places which made her body naturally attractive on top of that due to her periods she had to avoid wearing white. But when tried the other outfits she had, she realized that those were though professional but still shorter and tight.
Hence, she had to turn back towards her very first option that was the white one before turning around towards the dressing table to complete her makeover. She applied light foundation on her clear skin, blemish free skin, some light nude peach lip stick to match her outfit, with small golden studs matching her delicate stone pendant.
.......................................................................
Standing in front of the doors of the multinational company, Liliana sighed as she entered in the reception space. She looked at her wristwatch for the time, though she had reached on time, but she couldn't manage to buy her medications which also were a loss. Mentally she was groaning and scolding herself for not getting her outfit ready a night before; she could have bought her medicines as well as reached before time. She went towards the front desk with a soft smile to ask for the reporting person.
" Hello, I am Liliana Green I was.... "
She was cut-off in the middle by the ear-to-ear smiling receptionist who was looking extra cheerful than a person should be. It was looking quite confusing and suspicious to her.
" Ms. Liliana, right? Please head towards the 42nd floor for the CEO's office directly to report. "
The receptionist replied without letting her speak. Liliana was taken aback by her quick response but smiled professionally and headed towards the said direction for the CEO’s office.
' Well, that was weird, but anyways I should now get going. I don't was to be late anymore otherwise mm- '
Liliana whimpered a little in pain. She walked through the corridors of the huge building with a gentle smile on her face. She had practiced her professional attitude well while getting ready for work. She knew if she came off as an inexperienced newbie, then the people she would be working for in future would eat her up like a prey in a lion’s den. Though there was no denial in the fact that she knew, she believed that Jason would do anything but have her in harm's way, but still wouldn’t be able to help her in any way in her professional journey without coming off as favoring her.
In the corporate world, newbies, interns and anyone who was dreaming to have a sweet time in her job, friendly, was friendly and helpful to everyone, would be eaten up soon by the sharks present between the friendly dolphins.
She cursed under her breathe lightly to the man she was going to meet up with in a few minutes, a slight tremor in her steps because of the seething pain in her lower belly.
" That DEVIL! "
While in the CEO's office ~
" Achoo "
' Looks like my baby is here, she must be cursing me loudly. '
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, "
Jason chuckled suddenly, startling the person sitting in the front on the couch. The said person had known him for the longest time, from birth to be specific for him and yet, he had never heard him chuckle out of nowhere suddenly. He made a dramatic expression keeping his palm over his heart in a panicking way, like he just had a mini shock because of the sound.
" What happened to you suddenly? "
The person asked still overacting just a little to annoy Jason, who gave him a ‘Are you serious?' look. In answer, he sheepishly smiled and rubbed his nape and regained his posture looking at Jason with questioning eyes.
" Nothing Arthur but someone must have just cursed me in their mind a little too loudly. "
Jason replied standing in front of the floor to ceiling window to a confused Arthur.
" Get ready your sister-in-law is coming. "
Arthur smiled excitedly at the news and stood up from his seat. He had many questions in his mind, and why won’t he? He had never met his sister-in-law from up close, not to mention he had never met her ever.
" What really! Have you two patched up finally. Is she coming here or at...? "
" No and no, and don't get too excited just act like you have seen her for the first time and you know nothing of our relationship. And specially that you are related to me by any way. "
" Wait, wait, wait what are you saying, let me process it. So first, you both haven't patched up. "
" Yes. "
"And she doesn't know me? "
" More like you never met her. "
" More like you never introduced me! "
" Why would I introduce another man to her in the first place. And you were out of country at that time. "
" Well sounds like you. Okay, we have a deal. "
