Chapter 8

Previously***

Lost in the depths of his gaze, Ava felt herself becoming entranced. Time seemed to stand still as their breaths mingled in the air. The weight of the moment hung heavily between them. 

Ava's senses were overwhelmed, her mind consumed by the enchantment of the moment. Their lips hovered tantalizingly close, teasing the possibility of a forbidden connection. 

And in that suspended moment, the world faded away, leaving only the promise of a passionate embrace.

"NOW:

Their lips were but a breath away, their hearts beating in sync, when abruptly someone barged into the romm.The tranquility of the moment was shattered by an unexpected intrusion. "Broooooooooo, guess who is ba-!" The words died on the intruder's lips as he stood frozen, his eyes widening at the sight before him. Ava hastily distanced herself from Aditya, her eyes darting nervously around the room. The intruder remained rooted to the spot, disbelief etched across his face. Never could he have fathomed that his icy, enigmatic brother would find himself in such a compromising position. A palpable sense of menace filled the air, as Aditya's gaze bore into the intruder, his eyes gleaming with a deadly intensity.

Trembling with trepidation, the intruder, Rishi Roy Kapoor, a renowned luminary of the entertainment industry, knew all too well the wrath of his elder brother. He dared not provoke him further, for he had no desire to find himself at the receiving end of his brother's fury. "I apologize for my intrusion. Consider me a mere insignificant rat and continue with your affairs," he stammered, hastily retreating from the room, his heart pounding in his chest.

After Rishi left, the atmosphere became a little awkward between them. Aditya was feeling very restless. For the first time in his life he felt this sudden urge to kiss someone very badly. He was unable to control himself. 'Only if that stupid brother of mine hadn't disturbed us' Aditya thought in his mind. Finally taking a deep breath he said "you rest now. I'm going to do some work" and went out to calm his raging hormones.

Ava was also quite flustered. She had almost lost control over herself. Thank God someone came or else she might have done something she would regret later. After calming her thoughts she draped a blanket on herself. The medicine was also starting to take effect. Within no time she fell into a soundless sleep.

Ava woke up after a long sleep . She got from the bed and walked down stairs to the living room.

The head butler Raghu found Ava coming down and quickly went to her. 

"Helo Madam. Sir is in his study right now. You please wait here for 5 minutes. The food will be served" He said.

"There in no need for that. I have already given you enough problems. I would not like to keep staying here. Please tell your Sir that I'm really grateful to him. I shall repay him for it" She said shaking her head.

"But Mam. You are still unwell and -" before the butler could say more Ava cut her off by saying "Please. I would not want you guys to worry. I'm fine. And Thank you very much " With that she walked out of the house. She didn't wanna spend anymore time with Aditya. She doesn't know what happens to her whenever she is around him. The cold and bossy Ava just disappears . It's like she just becomes an open book infront him and Ava wasn't liking it. Not even a bit.

Aditya toiled away in his study, engrossed in the depths of his work. For the past 45 minutes, he had been consumed by the contents of a particular file. Yet, no matter how diligently he tried to focus, the image of a previous encounter lingered in his mind. Whenever he closed his eyes, the memory of Ava's plump lips and her honey brown eyes, tinged with a hint of nervousness, would materialize before him.

With a heavy sigh, he reclined in his chair, seeking solace from the weight of his thoughts. Just then, a gentle knock resonated through the room, interrupting his reverie. "Come in," he beckoned, his voice filled with a mix of weariness and anticipation.

His loyal assistant, Adam, entered the study, bearing news of their investigation into Madam. "Sir, we have gathered some information about her. However, we refrained from delving too deep, as per your instructions," Adam informed, extending the file towards Aditya.

"Very well. You may take your leave," Aditya replied, his eyes fixated on the contents of the file.

As he perused the document, his gaze fixated on the name inscribed upon it - Ava Shetty. The CEO of The Shetty's, a woman of remarkable stature at the tender age of 22. Aditya's heart skipped a beat as he discovered her relationship status - single, never having experienced the embrace of love. A wave of relief washed over him, as if the universe had conspired in his favor. His eyes then settled upon her photograph, capturing her in a moment of resolute determination, clad in a black shirt and white pants. Tenderly, he traced the contours of her face with his fingertips, whispering softly, "Soon, Ava. Soon..."

Aditya was still engrossed in his work when he finally noticed the time. 8.53 P.M. He got and went to his room to check on Ava. But he found the room to be empty. He was walking downstairs when he found The head butler Raghu coming upstairs. 

"Sir Mam has already left . She said that she was very greateful to you. She would also repay you for your help. " Butler said in one breath.

Aditya sighed and thought 'how she is gonna repay me?'

He didn't say anything and went back to his study.

The next day Ava woke up early and went to the office as every other day. She was totally engrossed in meetings and work. She had almost forgotten about the yesterday's incident.

Ava was checking some files when she heard a knock. "Come in".

Her assistant Ria entered and said " Mam, Mr Kapoor is here "
