The 14 of Indeyes, 1002 A.N.E – 7:01 PM
Zentinel's eyes opened wide as she was looking at the night sky. Memories, a flow of memories passed through her head. The last visions of an idiot who thought of her acts as heroic.
Informations about troops, weapons, enemy's tactics, and even the enemy's leader's position. Thanks to her, everyone knew vital things about the fortress, but also how to infiltrate it.
At least, that's how they wanted to take it.
Nobody cried. They knew about Cruisader's intentions which is why they couldn't bring themselves to do that. A plan was formulated around her findings and quickly, preparations were made.
The meeting lasted for hours, and at the end, everyone went to sleep in preparation for the next day. Only Zentinel stayed up looking at the night sky with her usual expression. She wasn't feeling sad, she wasn't feeling anything at all. For some reason, the situation didn't really matter to her.
Why was that? Why was she feeling so… empty? So detached?
She didn't know. She didn't want to know. Maybe, she didn't fully realize the situation yet, and she was thankful for that. That way, she could just ignore all of that girl's memories, her fears, her insecurities, everything she was never able to say.
Did everyone get as many memories as her, or was it because she was the closest person to Cruisader?
That too, she didn't want to know.
"You idiot. You ran away in the end," she mumbled.
Her armor was strangely heavy that night. That must have been because of tiredness, she only wished it would not be the case when the fight would start the next day.
The 15 of Indeyes, 1002 A.N.E – 1:09 AM
The flying fortress Tzaphkiel appeared in the sea of clouds. Shogo, Nightingale, and all of Nya's daughters prepared to engage it.
But, the battle never started.
In the distance, Tzaphkiel seemed to sparkle, at the same time, sparkles appeared around the town.
Zentinel's mouths gaped open.
"That is…"
Wearing a heavily donated white robe and a golden crown, a woman with long golden hair and golden eyes was sitting on a golden throne. At her right, stood a girl with a similar garb, but wearing a hood, only revealing her golden hair. At her left, stood Gabriel, in her lab coat and her dragon-like form.
The latter spoke first. [Ashe, Ecclesia is ready.]
Ashe turned her eyes to Gabriel. "Hm?"
The other girl intervened. "Lady Sandalphon, you must be the one to use the cleansing light. If not, the protagonist will reset the world."
"Ah, oui… unless I am the one using it, Alex will do that, huh?" Sandalphon said, seemingly distracted. "Can't I kill her directly? I wanted to see her."
Gabriel clenched her fist, looking somewhat troubled.
[No. I don't want to take that risk.] she said. [We must destroy this town at once.]
"We agree with Lady Gabriel, even if our reasons are different."
[And just what are you implying?] Gabriel said glaring at the other girl.
"You are smart, surely you already know Lady Gabriel."
[...]
Sandalphon rested her head on her hand, ignoring them. "Rewrite the world, huh? Can a paradise truly be created this easily?"
[...Ganymede was originally a paradise, Ashe. Of course, it is possible.]
"We shall help you in its construction," the other girl said, bowing.
"Metatron?" Sandalphon called.
"Yes?"
"Don't forget your promise."
"We won't."
"Keep it."
"We will."
Sandalphon opened her eyes wide, and her face darkened.
"Don't lie to me."
"Why doubting us now?"
[You are not human.]
"Nobody is," Metatron replied. "Especially not us."
[That is not my point!]
"You two, stop it this instant." Sandalphon ordered.
Gabriel gritted her teeth, but decided to stay quiet. Maybe she was the one who was too human actually, just coming back to Ganymede made her lose her calm.
Metatron on the other hand was not affected. Well, of course she wasn't, her humanity was long gone in mind if not in body. Gabriel knew that, but did Sandalphon realize? Maybe… maybe not…
Nevertheless, it was Metatron who approached Sandalphon again.
"... Worry not, 'sister'," declared, her hand on her chest. "We would not lie. Only the truth interests us."
After observing Metatron a moment with a deadpan expression, Sandalphon turned her gaze in the void as if to say 'Whatever'. She slowly got up, looking at the town she could see thanks to images displayed in real time by Tzaphkiel's walls. It looked like a transparent dome allowing you to see the outside clearly.
"I summon thee, light of the beginning. Purify once again the world from the abyss. Strike those two, for they are beyond saving. Make them a…" Sandalphon stopped.
"A problem, sister?" Metatron inquired.
"Oh right, we don't want to destroy the whole world, just the town, sorry, let me try again..." Sandalphon replied, with an embarrassed smile.
"That would have been quite the problem, yes." Metatron commented.
[Ashe, please, be more careful from now on. It hardly fits a leader to make that kind of error!] Gabriel scolded.
"I-I get it, d'accord? (None of you tried to stop me though…)"
Sandalphon took another deep breath and started her incantation again, a hand up in the air this time.
"I summon thee, light of the beginning. Purify once again the world from the abyss." She lowered her hand as if conjuring something. "Let you be, [Ecclesia]."
As soon as she uttered those words, blinding pillars of light appeared all over the city.
[And… with that, Ganymede has been destroyed… That was easy…] Gabriel said.
"Yes… How anti-climactic…" Sandalphon remarked.
Gabriel shrugged. [That is what happens when you use that powerful armament right off the bat.]
"I guess, but… aren't antagonists supposed to refrain from using all of their strength at the beginning?"
[Why, only an idiot would do that. And fiction or not, this is our reality so I don't want to pass for an idiot.]
"Should we start building Eden, now?" Metatron asked.
"We might as well. Lead the way, sister."
"Of course, follow me."
On that note, Metatron and Sandalphon proceeded to leave the throne room.
However, Sandalphon quickly stopped as if she just remembered something.
"Hm? Aren't you going to follow us, Gabriel?" she asked, without turning around.
Gabriel crossed her arms. [I will wait for Sir Raphael. He is better at handling troops than a herald and searcher like me.]
"True. Shall we wait together?"
[No, you should focus on rewriting this world. He will be late after all, he always is.]
"Very well. I will let you handle this." Sandalphon said, walking away.
[Ashe.]
Sandalphon didn't react leaving the room with Metatron who was waiting for her.
[... In the end, you too will lose your humanity, won't you?]
She destroyed a town without even asking if it was bad. Moreover, she didn't seem to be conflicted or to remember her old name. Only a little push, and she would be the same as Metatron.
[Now, Eden shall truly come. It appears you failed, daughter of the Wolf household…] Gabriel said, with a wry smile.
There were no flowers in her hair at that moment. Gabriel used her clawed hands to extract her own heart, and crush it. Normally that would not be enough to kill her, but she had taken measures beforehand.
[Let's hope the next protagonist does better.]
And with that, she fell on her knees, her mind fading with the hope that stopping at least herself would help the future generations.

Looking at the ruined city of Ganymede, a peculiar witch sighed heavily. Every building was destroyed almost completely, almost everyone, every habitant died in the explosions.
"Well, Berattelse held its ground until the end."
In the middle of this desolation, a young girl with tattered clothes, was on her knees. Everything she stood for up until this instant was destroyed in the blink of an eye. Her family disappeared in pillars of lights or under the rocks.
The only reason she even survived was because she was protected by one of her sisters wearing an armor, and a total stranger of whom she was afraid up until now.
What motivated them? Why would they defend the weakest of the daughters of Nya?
She couldn't figure that out. Too many memories raced her mind at the moment, she didn't even know who she was now.
"Docta? That was your name if we remember correctly?"
A voice echoed through her head. Docta… she did remember something like that, yes. Was that her name?
"We originally came to say something like 'we told you so' and then laugh at you, but… you sure look empty."
The girl raised her pale blue eyes toward the woman's face, as a dog would. Without her realizing it, tears started rolling down her cheeks. Slowly, she started sobbing under the clear sky.
The witch, Trivia, looked up. "See? That's why fiction is better. Reality does not care about you at all. Look, even now, with this ruined town, the sun is shining bright."
She crouched to the girl.
"However, WE care about you so we shall warn you again. Sandalphon and her followers will set foot in about 3 hours. In the meantime, you have 3 options."
She raised her index finger.
"One, you stay here and die with all your sister's memories."
She raised major finger.
"Two, you run to the higher ring and look for Zazzera Schneeweißchen. She is still currently alive, and if you explain her your link to Alexandra B.B. Wolf, she will take care of you. Of course, that implies lying to her a little, but she will be happy to have you by her side. However, if you wait too long, she will take her life."
She raised her annulary finger.
"Three, we give you one of our eyes allowing you to see the truth, like your sister, the Puppeteer Witch. In fact, you I'll be more powerful than her since we will train you in order to use it properly. However, there will be a price to pay – you will have to do a certain thing for me."
The girl didn't reply. Trivia reached at her with her hand, a strangely large smile on her face.
"Now, choose, daughter of Froshkönig. Which will it be, hm?"
Nyatopia – END.
