Chapter 12

Cassandra’s POV

Days passed by in silence as I was trying to figure what happened to me. I distanced myself from the group for a while and even though I finally found Bane I still feel far away from the truth. I realized that there are some things I need to do on my own , that way I can protect others from getting killed because of me.

‘’ Good morning love.’’ Will interrupted my train of thought.

‘’ Hi .’’ I smiled at him.

‘’ I see you have been silent lately , I understand but we must keep going with this . I believe that talking to Bane you will eventually find the answers you have been looking for. Don’t you think?’’

‘’ You might be right , now get dressed , Bane is on the porch waiting for you.’’ He passed me the sweater that Irene made for me and some jeans. I mustered the courage and went outside. Bane gestured me to take a sit in front of him knowing he will have some stuff to talk about with me.

‘’ Listen , I understand it’s hard but you have to know more. You need to understand what is happening.’’

‘’ Why did Queen Cora say all that about my parents , what did they do ?’’

‘’ The people you think you know , aren’t how they used to be you know? Your mother was fearless and unfortunately she did have that spark of evil inside of her. When everyone started looking for them she would stop at nothing to keep them away. Even though your father tried stopping her many times she killed a lot of mystical creatures , most of them being fairies since they wanted you the most. From the pack they used to rule she even killed two of her trusted men , she regrets it this day probably but at that time all she could think was that killing everyone that want you will solve the problem. Every move they made she ended up harming someone , they would retaliate find you and they would be on the run again. The reason why they came back was because of your father , he trusted William’s father and he thought that if they needed help you would find your way to them . Fortunately for you , you ended up bonding with their son . So now that the fairies found them , and they didn’t know about it still , fairies took revenge for the killings .’’ Bane explained looking down.

‘’ It sounds like I lived with a murderer in the house to be honest…’’

‘’She wanted nothing but the best for you , her rage was her enemy in a sense justice was made because she had to pay , if she would have settled this before , they wouldn’t have been killed now.’’

‘’ What about the black wolf , who is he?’’

‘’I can sense you have met him a couple of times , and since I am here I want to tell you. He is your cousin Cassandra. His name is Arthur , he is here to fulfill the prophecy in which evil will rule the royal throne not good. And because you are the one in the prophecy not him, he might try and turn you evil . I suggest you avoid searching answers from him.’’ Bane completed.

‘’ How was I able to see Ida?’’

‘’ Well , her soul never slept peacefully , so when her family is in need she will always find a way to reach out for us. In all this time she only came three times. Once when I was taking the whole warlock thing to the wrong way , one when your mother started the killings and well now when she came into your dreams to give you strength . So if she ends up coming it’s either really bad or we really need her, either way it would be better to have peace and no see her , don’t you think?’’ Bane said as I nodded.

‘’ I have so many questions , I don’t even know how to ask them , it’s just craziness inside my head.’’ I mumbled.

‘’ I know , but like I always say all in dues time.’’ He smiled

William came next to us as he placed a cup of coffee in my hands , it was warm and the scent was incredible. Silence was brought to an end as two more packs knocked on our door.

As I got up from the chair I was greeted by a set of twins , Milo and Yurich , both strong brothers with their own packs .

‘’Hi everyone.’’ I greeted them.

‘’Finally a royal that is worth the throne.’’ Yurich smiled shacking my hand.

‘’Thank you. ‘’ They looked past me and saw Bane.

‘’ Our brother!’’ they both yelled running towards Bane.’’ I thought we would never fight shoulder to shoulder again.’’ Said Milo.

‘’ Never say never , right? ‘’ smiled Bane hugging them back.

As they were both chatting William’s parents came to our side.

‘’Honey , we must go back to London for a while . There are some issues there we must take care of before it gets even more complicated.’’ His mom said as she grabbed his hand.

‘’ It’s alright mom , we will manage here , as you can already see we are plenty already.’’ He smiled back at her.

‘’Cassandra, it was nice meeting you and I am sorry that we didn’t have more time together , but soon we will.’’ She smiled at me as she gave me a hug. They grabbed they luggage and left the house.

As I tried closing the door it pulled through a fairy portal. I cussed profusely and decided to go forward since the door was not there anymore. I stepped further into the blooming woods that had various flowers enchanting the view. All kinds of scents were filling the air ad the grass was soft, with every step I took I could feel more and more into a fairytale. With a blink of an eye my clothes were turned into a pastel pink gown that was draping onto the ground creating a cascade of material behind me.

In the further corners of the wood you could almost hear flutes creating music ,dragging me towards them closer and closer not being able to control myself.

‘’Queen Cora I know you are here. I don’t’ know if you are trying to mock me or if you really want to talk to me , but I for one , would love to share some of my thoughts with you.’’ I mumbled feeling her scent in my presence.

‘’ I know you would want answers from me , why I did what I did , why you are here all alone and many more questions just hitting me in the face.’’ She smirked. ‘’ But Bane has answered most of them , therefore I have no more answers regarding those questions .’’

‘’Than why did you create this portal ? Did you miss me?’’

‘’Not at all… I just wanted to warn you about the black wolf. It’s enough that your blood is cursed we don’t need no more trouble . Trust me if I could I would kill your entire family and get over with it . But a treaty is a treaty and I respect my promises. All I have to say is that you must stay away from the black wolf or this treaty might bend a little more than expected.’’

‘’So in simple words you are literally threatening me. Any more conditions my queen. It seems like you want to rule over everyone.’’ All she did was laugh. ‘’ I am Queen of wolves and if you want any more trouble test me , you will be surprised. Stay away from me , my family and my packs , or you will end up burning , stronger and louder than anyone else.’’

‘’ Awww come on , don’t let emotions get to you , your parents are already dead just get over with it.’’

‘’ I’m not going to let you make me break control , but if needed in battle trust me I will snap your neck before anything else.’’ All this time I was digging my wolf nails into my skin praying that I would break free , and as she was getting ready to give a reply I woke up in the kitchen with blood dripping from my palms onto the floor.

‘’ Are you alright?’’ asked Irene.’’ You have been in a trance for quite some time.’’

‘’ Queen Cora came to visit suddenly. I am fine , just many words in vain nothing that important . It almost feels like she just wants to play games.’’

‘’ Well we should figure these things out quicker because it is quite creating some trouble .’’ smiled Irene. ‘’ Listen there is a vampire party going on tonight we should go you know!’’

‘’ Aren’t they our natural enemies ?’’ I questioned.

‘’ Nope , not in North Dakota , maybe in Seattle , but not even there anymore . So let’s get ready we need some time for us , this is getting hectic.’’

We both got dressed , she went with this dark green dress and some vans that matched Jasper’s and I went with my high waisted black jeans paired with vans and a nice tank top . I grabbed Will’s arm and headed out . It was this bar in the middle of the city called Fang City , it was filled with red lights , a dark mood and vampires obviously. They all seemed to be eyeing us , but for all the right reasons. All we could do was smile and keep waling towards the bar. At the bar we spotted a red haired girl the was preparing drinks , she was also a vampire by the looks of it.

‘’ Hi , could we get some shots please?’’ I smiled.

‘’Isn’t Cassandra Cromwell I little to young to drink?’’ she laughed.

‘’ How do you ----‘’ she didn’t let me finish.

‘’Anna , the eyes and ears of this pub and I do tend to know everything , so it was natural for me to know who you are because you turned into a celebrity in a matter of weeks.’’ She said as she placed 10 shots in front of us giving me a wink. ‘’ Now drink up and let’s party!’’ she completed giving a shot with us. It was the strongest thing I ever had , but I will be honest it was nice breaking the rules for once.

As we were chatting here and there with everyone , I could feel a link growing stronger and closer to me by the minute , but I could not pin point to anyone in the room. Within minutes my mind was all blurred by everyone thoughts and voices and as I was trying to walk away from the crowd I pump into someone. There was this tall dude , around nineteen years of age , his body towering over mine , his deep green eyes staring into mine as I could see a big grin form onto his face. The music was getting quieter and all I could do was focus on this guy that popped out of nowhere. His arms were filled with tattoos and also his neck had tattoos here and there.

‘’ Hello dear cousin.’’ He says in a deep voice. All I could do was stare at him questioningly. ‘’ We have met many times before , only in wolf form though.’’ He laughs as he patted my shoulder.

‘’ Arthur? The black wolf?’’

‘’ Who else would it be ? Just in town to turn my little cousin evil for a chance eh?’’ he explains.

‘’Yeah…. No thank you.’’ I finish as I started walking away, but his arm hold me in place.

‘’Not so fast Queen , it is time for us to discuss real business , and you have one chance to make it easy.’’

‘’ Take your hands off her!’’ I hear Will scream as everyone was now staring at us.

‘’ Hello Will.’’ My cousin smirks at him. ‘’ Now excuse me I must talk with your lovely mate over here.’’ He said turning back to me as I strike his cheek with a slap. Guess we are off to a good start.

‘’ Now you little bi-‘’

‘’Enough Arthur ! We are over with your drama for tonight , so IF you want to talk to your cousin I suggest that you should bring it up to the supernatural council where everything can be talked, OR you could always ask nicely .’’ Anna smiles at him pushing him away from me.

‘’ Fine , Cassandra can we please talk?’’

‘’Nope , not tonight .’’ I smile.

‘’ But-‘’

‘’No buts , I need my night . I am over with this drama!’’

‘’ Well , when you want to talk , and save your parents call for me in the woods.’’ He smirks starting to walk away.

‘’ What did you say?’’ I questioned.

‘’ The discussion is off the table for now alright? Some time next week I’ll come by for a chat .’’ he said closing the bar’s door.

‘’ Wait …. My parents are dead.’’ I whisper.

‘’ Chill honey , he is just messing with your brain , he does this to everyone.’’ Smiled Anna looking down.

I go closer to Will who was fuming by now , trying to control himself from going out there after Arthur. I look into his eyes and wrap my arms around his neck gesturing him to hug me back as I plaster my lips onto his , giving him a long lasting smooch.

‘’ Is it hot in here?’’ he laughs.

‘’Just you.’’ I grab his hand and drag him to the dance floor as we started cheering along with the crowd. Hours pass by and as we were walking down the street we see a tattoo parlor, I cheer quickly and push the door open . I was finally eighteen and I could get my tattoos with no parental guidance, so why not. Will looks smiling at me as I chat with the tattoo artist. I decided to tattoo on the back of my arm above my elbow my families rune.

‘’ I have seen this before.. can’t put my finger on it but have definitely done it before.’’ The tattoo artist explains as he is tattooing my skin.

‘’Where?’’

‘’ Oh , some time ago a dude came in and asked for it . Ex boyfriend or something?’’ he laughs.

‘’ Just my dumb cousin probably.’’ I reply.
