The Rescue
The voices outside grew louder, and soon Trisha spotted the beam of a flashlight slicing through the dimness of the cave. She squinted against the sudden brightness, shielding her eyes with her hand. Relief washed over her as she saw several figures moving around the opening roof, their faces filled with concern.
The rescue team began their descent into the cave with ropes, carefully anchoring themselves to the rocks above. It was a slow and laborious process as they lowered themselves down, one by one, into the depths of the cave. The ropes creaked under the strain, and the men grunted with effort, their movements cautious to avoid slipping on the slick surfaces.
With each passing moment, the tension in the air lessened as the rescuers drew closer. Finally, the first of them reached the cave floor, quickly making his way towards Trisha and Dashiell. The first rescuer knelt beside them, his flashlight illuminating their faces.
