Trisha groaned softly, reaching into her pocket with shaky hands. Her heart raced as she felt the familiar shape of her phone. "Thank goodness," she muttered to herself, feeling a surge of relief. At least she had some way to figure out what was going on.
She pulled out her phone, the light from the screen cutting through the darkness. She quickly switched on the flashlight and directed the beam around the cave. The rocky walls glistened with moisture, and the ground was uneven, littered with small stones and puddles of water.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm the nervous flutter in her chest. Her first instinct was to check herself over. She ran her hands over her arms and legs, wincing as she pressed against some tender spots. "Just bruises," she whispered, relieved. "Could've been worse."
