When did he start caring about others?

"Miss Mara?"

Kylo furrowed his brows in confusion at the sight of the young woman standing in front of him with the Siberian Husky while holding two luggages. "Did something happen to you?" he asked with wrinkled eyebrows. Mara shook her head. "I am here to work all night"

She lied through her teeth. The company was the only place she could go in and out since she could not go back to her house or else she had to fight with the man at midnight. She packed a few clothes and things she needed when the man who tried to kill her, left the house.

"Well, if you need help, just tell me. I will help you" Kylo spoke with a stone face, Mara smiled and nodded, knowing that he was just talking without meaning it. "Can you please move?" she asked in annoyance. Kylo raised his eyebrows in realization.

He stepped aside and opened the office's door for the young woman. "Please let me help you" he stepped towards and grabbed the luggage from the young woman who was struggling with heavy bags. "No! No, thanks. I don't need any help, thanks"

Mara did not let the man help her. She walked into the huge office with her Husky. Kylo watched the young woman walking into the office with heavy luggages. She did not ask for help and even refused his help. She became more interesting.

It looked like something happened to her. Kylo narrowed his eyes in suspicion, he could not see through her thoughts. Normally, she would ask for his help and tell him about her problems sometimes. Now she was refusing to tell.

"I will take care of the rest"

Mara said as she sat down on the lounge. "You can go back home and rest" Kylo furrowed his brows. "No, it is fine. I still have a few works to do" he refused to rest. "Well, it is your choice" Mara shrugged, her hand was ruffling the Husky's fur.

There was a smile on her face. It was rare to see the young woman smiling like that. It looked like that Husky was really special and important for her. "Then, please excuse me" Kylo lowered his head and left the office. Mara sighed in relief when the man finally left.

She could not let Kylo Aaron know that she ran away from the man who was trying to kill her. She could not trust that Kylo Aaron. He was trying to drag her precious company into the mud. She had to protect her company at all cost.

"Damn, I am exhausted" Mara let out a loud sigh, leaning on the lounge lazily while ruffling her Husky which was on her lap. So many things happened just in a day. She felt so tired, she just wanted to rest. She just wanted to sleep for awhile.

She took off her white blazer because of the heat in the office. Not knowing that the night was going to get colder. She lied down on the lounge while putting her Husky on her lap. "Sleep well, baby. Good night" she whispered to her Husky.

Slowly and slowly, her eyelids started getting heavy to lift. The office was in silence, making the young woman fell asleep peacefully. The Husky went down from his owner's lap and he slept on the floor, so he could let his owner sleep well.

Not too long after, Mara fell asleep.

Kylo finished the work quickly because it was getting late. He grabbed the file and walked towards the young woman's office, the file only needed to be signed by the young woman and it would be done. His steps were directing to the office.

He knocked the door twice, waiting for the response from the young woman. But there was no sounds coming from the room. It was so quiet. Was she that busy so that she could not even hear anything? Or was she listening to some music?

"I am coming in" he warned, opening the door with furrowed eyebrows. As the door opened, his eyes met the young woman lying on the lounge. Her body was curled into a ball, wrapping her hands below the chest while shivering.

There was the Husky on the floor, sleeping peacefully. Kylo sighed, no wonder there was no response, it was because she was asleep. His aurora green eyes were focused on the young woman who was shivering due to the cold weather.

He walked towards the table and put down the file beside the laptop. He closed the window which was making the room freeze, making sure the young woman could sleep peacefully. He looked around to find something to cover the young woman.

The white blazer under her legs fell into Kylo's sight. He quietly went near to the young woman, not wanting to wake her up from the sleep. He slowly lifted the young woman's legs and took the white blazer quickly.

Then he put her legs back on the lounge gently. Kylo looked down at his hand which was holding the white blazer. When did he start caring about others? He shook his head. He decided to ignore the young woman and leave her alone in the cold weather.

"Damn it.."

He murmured furiously.

The sight of the young woman shivering made Kylo squeezed his eyes and frowned tightly. In the end, he covered the blazer on the young woman gently. Unfortunately, the white blazer did not warm her up. It only covered half of her body.

Kylo sighed tiredly, he did not even understand why he was doing these. He took off his dark green blazer and covered the young woman's legs. He made sure that the freezing air could not touch the young woman.

He straightened his back and looked down at the young woman who stopped shivering. His lips curved up into a small smile, but he did not realize that he was smiling. Kylo turned around and left the room quietly. Thanked to him, Mara slept well that night.

"*Woof!*" The loud woof woke Mara up. She opened her right eye with furrowed eyebrows, the different white ceiling made her eyes widened in realization. She was in the office, not in her house. Mara quickly sat up on the lounge with wrinkled eyebrows.

The first thing she noticed was the dark green blazer which was wrapped around her legs. She frowned tightly, not knowing what was going on. If she was right, she did not have any dark green blazer like that. Then where did it come from?

Who was the owner of that blazer?

"*Woof!*"

Her Husky's bark brought Mara back from ocean of thoughts. The bark was coming from the outside of her office. Why was he barking in the morning like that? Was he in danger? Mara got up from the lounge in hurry and walked towards the door with furrowed eyebrows.

When she opened the door, the sight of her Husky biting the bone fell in front of her eyes. There was Kylo Aaron sitting on the couch while watching the dog with a stone face. He looked so bored. "Umm, good morning" Mara greeted with a usual smile, catching the man's attention.

"Good morning" Kylo greeted back as he stood up from the couch. "Since you are awake now, I will leave this Husky in your hands" he spoke and went into the elevator, leaving the young woman in daze. Mara furrowed her brows in confusion.

She looked down at her Husky which was biting the bone with his sharp teeth. It looked like Kylo Aaron took care of her dog while she was sleeping. "Should I thank him?" She spoke to herself, deciding on what to do. "Come here, Baby!"

Mara clapped her hands and called her Husky to come near to her. The Husky dropped the bone and went to his owner with a wagging tail. Mara ruffled her dog's fur with a grin. "You are so energetic" she helplessly sighed. "Let's go.. " she picked her dog up and went into her office.

She sat down on the lounge.

Her eyes traveled to the clock on the wall. It was around 7 in the morning. She frowned tightly. Did Kylo come to work early because he have work to do? Or was that the regular time he always come to company? The time was still early.

The 8am was the regular time for employees to come to work. But it looked like Kylo had arrived to the company in early morning. He even took care of her dog while she was sleeping. Mara did not think anymore, she shrugged away her thoughts.

"Time to fill our stomachs" she ruffled her dog's fur and said with a smile. Mara took out her toothbrush and toothpaste from the luggage. Her steps directed to the women restroom. She did her morning routine in the restroom quickly.

Mara decided to fill her stomach after doing her morning routine. She went into the elevator with her Husky. As the door opened, she stepped out of the elevator. Her eyes met three women and two men with Kylo together. They were listening to Kylo carefully.

She furrowed her brows in curiosity and walked towards them. "Good morning, Miss Mara" three women and two men greeted her with full of respect, making Mara smiled in satisfaction. "Are they new employees here?" she asked as Kylo nodded.

"Yes, they will work here starting from today" he explained. Mara nodded in understatement. "Welcome to 'Reece'. Just a little reminder that your salary will increase depending on how you work. So do your best" The young woman smiled at the five.

That was the best way to make employees work harder. They all smiled in satisfaction when they heard the young woman's words. They did the best choice. Their boss was not that bad, she was the best. They had to work hard to get money. "Yes, Miss Mara. We will work hard"

The man spoke with a smile.

"Great, please excuse me"

The young woman walked out of the building, leaving the five in daze. They started to admire their boss. She was not like the rumor. They all had seen about the article saying Mara Athena was a weak girl who could not even handle the company.

Her assistant Kylo Aaron was the one who did everything instead of her, the article spoke as they wanted. Kylo looked at the five who were staring at the young woman until she disappeared from their sight. "I will show you where to work, follow me"

Kylo said with his usual stone face. Three women and two men snapped back and they all nodded in understatement then they followed the man in silence. Kylo Aaron was the scary man who never smiled just for once. He obeyed the young woman only.

And he held the highest position after CEO. Every employee could not help but scared of the man. They did not even dare to look straight into the man's eyes, or else they might end up getting chills down to their spines.
