Double date

Jasmine left from work to Katie's, she knocked and her mom opened the door

"Hello ma'am" she smiled

"Hi Jasmine, how are you!" She replied, stepping aside to let her in

"I'm fine, thank you "

"she's in her room," she told her before making her way to the kitchen

Jasmine loved Katie's mom, she is so chill, and beautiful with skin the color of chocolate, a round face, curvy figure, and average height.

Katie didn't take after her mom though, she had her father's features, while her sister, Irene had their mother's features.

Her father was light-skinned, and from what she saw in pictures, he was taller than her mom

Katie has curves too like her mom but she has a light skin tone, very much like Jasmine's, people often thought they were related.

Jasmine made her way up to her room and found her standing with a towel around her, and clothes strewn on the bed and the chair.

Relief evident on her face when she noticed Jasmine

"Thank God you're here, I can't decide on what to wear" she motioned to the clothes

Jasmine smirked closing the door behind her then looked through the clothes in her closet

she picked out a royal blue dress with thin straps on the shoulder

"Try this on" she held it out to her, choosing a pair of black high-heeled sandals that had cute silver flowers on the straps, she put them at the edge of the bed.

"How do I look?" Katie asked when she had shimmied into the dress

It was the right choice, it stopped just above her knees and set off her light skin tone perfectly, the dress looked simple but the slit at the front made her look sexy.

"Shouldn't I wear a hose or something?" she asked touching the part of her thigh where the slit stopped self consciously

"No, it's fine just the way it is, the slit is not too high" she assured taking her mini makeup bag into the bathroom and setting the things she needed on the sink.

"Get in here, bring a chair"

Katie walked in with the chair and set it in front of the mirror

"Is there a look you wanna go for?

She asked, mixing foundation shades to match her skin tone perfectly

She shrugged "Just do you, Jay"

Jasmine nodded then cleaned her face with wet wipes, then a face cleanser, before using a primer, she moisturized her face, then applied foundation.

She did her eyebrows next, going for curved eyebrows because they complimented her round face.

She went light on the eyeshadow, she didn't bother using fake lashes because Katie has naturally long lashes, she just applied mascara and decided on pretty pink for her lip to complete the natural look.

She plugged in the curler to style her bangs and got the rest of her hair into a top knot and stuck a hairpin in it

"You can look now" she stepped away from the mirror

Katie took a sharp intake of breath "wow... I look different, beautiful " she said in a shaky voice

"You mean sophisticated?" She teased

"I'm glad you like it"

"Thank you"

"Don't thank me__ now move I need to get mine done, I won't take long"

Katie walked out of the bathroom to put her shoes on "It's the black heels right?" she asked

"Yeah, and the black bag too" Jay called back

She opted for winged eyeliner, then packed the makeup products back in the bag and walked out.

Katie looked up from where she was putting on her shoes on the bed

"You're not wearing any makeup Jay," she said with a raised eyebrow

"You're the one who's going on a date, not me besides I lined my eyes" she retorted.

"Is my outfit okay though?"

She didn't want to draw too much attention to herself so she opted for an outfit in her favorite color, which is a black camisole, a high-waisted skirt that reached her mid-thigh, and black ankle boots. she topped the outfit with a short army green jacket and sure she also had a black clutch

"How many black clothes do you own?" Katie asked "You know what? Don't answer that, you look good though"

"Thanks, babe, let's go," Jay said, she usually wasn't so excited about going out on dates but she couldn't wait to see Katie's, new man

and see if he's decent enough or she'd have to talk some sense into her, she didn't want her friend to get hurt

They ordered a cab on Katie's phone, the restaurant was an hour's drive from her house.

The pair of them drew stares from the moment they stepped out of the cab, Jasmine glanced at her bestie and noticed she was nervous "That guy almost walked into the door staring at you" she joked

Katie laughed "No he didn't, don't exaggerate"

She looked around and saw her date waving them over from a table at the far end of the restaurant, the girl beside him grinning in their direction

"That must be his childhood friend"

Jasmine quipped, fighting back a smile

Aiden stood and kissed her cheek when they got to the table

"You look beautiful" he whispered to her but Jasmine caught it, and watched Katie preen at the remark...Interesting

He pulled out her chair, Jasmine was impressed__at least he's got manners

"I hope it wasn't too hard to get here?" He asked looking directly at Katie, they had yet to look away from each other

"Not at all, meet my best friend, Jasmine" she introduced smiling

"Forgive my manners...

It's nice to finally meet you, Jasmine, she's told me a lot about you"

"Good things I hope"

"You bet," he said with a smile "Meet Celine, my childhood friend"

Celine went to hug Katie, who seemed a bit winded and pleasantly surprised

"It's so nice to meet you, Aiden won't shut up about you, now I get it

You're gorgeous" she gushed

Katie giggled self consciously "thanks"

"Hi" she waved at Jasmine almost in a shy manner

"No hug for me?" She asked teasingly then drew her in for a hug before taking a good look at her

Damn! She's cute, with a soft angular face, brown expressive eyes and long lashes enhanced by mascara, a straight nose that seemed rounded at the bottom

And those full lips, she almost groaned, then released her abruptly when she realized she'd been holding her for too long, Katie and Aiden were also giving them curious stares

"I'm glad you like each other" Katie quipped smugly

"Yeah, yeah let's order

I'm hungry" she said to take the attention off them and gave Celine a subtle push towards her chair

"What would you like, Katherine?" Aiden asked looking at the menu they shared before he signaled a waited to their table

Her friend's face lit up "Jollof rice, salad, and beef, how about you?"

She seemed to glow when he called her that

"I'll have fried rice and chicken," he said

"Chicken and chips, " Celine and Jasmine said almost at the same time

There was a pause at the table before they burst out giggling getting a few stares from other tables

"As always Celine"

"You never order anything else," Katie said

"I hope they've got great chips," Jasmine said with a shrug

Their food was brought to the table and they started eating, the conversation flowed easily and she knew they'd get along well

Yeah__she liked them, not only was Aiden good-looking, but also well-mannered. Jay thought smiling inwardly

"Yes, we're in a band" She replied to a question Celine asked her
