chap 11

Audrey's pov:-

" Now please beta give me a minute and I'll be down in no time " I said in a low shaky voice  .

He looked at me and then nodded and I sighed in relief inwardly . I was getting nervous because of the angry stares I was getting from him so I tried to close my door to get ready and to get out this awkward situation but he shoved his foot in the door ,

" My, my just put your sneakers on and come " , he said turning around .

What the actual hell? . I was in my pajamas and my hair was a mess . All I was asking for a minute or two .

" Well your time is running out . Do you want to run bare feet ?", Beta David voiced boomed.

I quickly grabbed the first pair of sneakers I could get my hands on and put them on and rushed toward Mia and she had pity in her eyes for me . I weakly smiled at her and all four of us rushed out of the pack house towards the woods.

David and Lucas were both very fast and both Mia and I were having a hard time keeping up with them despite our training and strong bloodlines.

Once we reached the woods , they both stared running faster than before . The distance between us stared increasing a bit before we heard beta David's voice ,

" If you both don't keep up with us then I swear this morning run isn't gonna end any time soon . I thought you guys trained but I guess it's just for a show".

He's really pissing me off now . Mia and I both exchanged looks and soon we picked up speed and almost caught up to them or at least that's what we thought . Because they both increased their speed again and Mia and I stared at their backs  with horror .

My stomach was growling like crazy and Mia was panting , she didn't have her shift yet so I guess she was having a harder time . I don't know how much time has passed . It was like we have been running for an eternity.

" Audrey , I heard Mia's panting voice

" When is this gonna end it's already 7;40am  " she said looking at her wrist watch.

My legs were getting shaky and I was struggling but I gasped " what , it's already 7:40am . I have to get _ready for school and get_ some breakfast , yikes".

I looked at Mia , sweat rolling down her face . "Shit ! Mia , are you __ fine ?" I said .

She nodded and huffed ," look who is talking "  . She was right  I wasn't in good shape either . It was like I was going black out soon . My legs were giving up and I stopped and sat down .

" Get up Audrey or beta will get mad and _ " Mia said but she was cut off

" Why did you two stop running? " beta David said as he and Lucas came running back towards .

" I  _ can't , I can't run anymore.  " I said catching my breath .

" Well you look perfectly fine to me.  " he said  sarcastically taking in my appearance  and both he and Lucas started laughing . Both of them didn't show any sign of exhaustion .Either  they had some super hero stamina or they both were good at hiding .I knew it was the first but I couldn't bring myself to admit it.

Well i didn't get time to tie up my hair and it was all over face covered in sweat and my pajamas were covered in dirt and they both were messing with me because I disrespected our beta . I inwardly cursed myself for not setting up an alarm .

" Here have some ", Lucas said throwing a water bottle at me and I shot him a thankful smile . I might forgive this guy . I drank some and then passed it to Mia . Lucas' face suddenly went stoic . So I asked him ," do you mind Alphaaa ?"  . Why does this guy hate Mia ? . I actually might not forgive him until he stopped giving her cold stares.

" Nah , I don't because the bottle is actually David's ", Lucas said harshly.

" Let's go now ", David said turning.

A horrifying expression spread across Mia's face and I know my face probably looked the same. So before he could start running again I said,

" Beta we have to go to school so please can you let us leave ."

He turned and took long strides towards me ," It's 7:50 am and school starts at 8:30am , you ' ll have plenty of time . You both can leave at 8:10am".

" What" , Mia and I blurted out .

"Is there a problem ?" , He said eyeing us .

Of course we have a problem you dumbass. I wish I could say this to his face .

" Mia and I  have to get ready and grab something to eat ,I need to go 20min won't be enough ". I said slowly containing my urge to lash out .

" I usually leave at 8:15 am and 15 min are enough to get shower and get dressed for school" Lucas shrugged .

WTH

" We didn't have our breakfast " , Mia said politely .

" Then you should have woken up earlier , it's not our problem " Lucas said again.

Mia didn't utter a word after that.

" If Lucas can do it then you guys can do it too so come on " beta said

Think Audrey, think  . We don't want to run anymore and we both are  starving

" Well I need some extra time that I know Lucas doesn't need ." I said raising my voice a bit.

"I need to put on some makeup and stuff . Some girl stuff  that I hope you both don't know of ".

Mia looked at me like I had gone crazy and I felt her because I didn't put makeup on unless it was a special occasion but it was worth a shot if he would let us go.

" I don't think you wear makeup  and I know about some girl stuff because I have a sister too so please enlighten me ." Beta David smirked.

" I_ i_ I want to wear makeup today because I am going on a date with a guy during lunch break today and I need to search for something presentable to wear so _"  

" You both can go " beta David turned and took off. Lucas shrugged and took off .

Mia and I both would have done a victory dance if we had energy left.

we started walking slowly towards Mia's house.

" So you are going on a date and you didn't tell me , who is the guy?" , Mia said sarcastically so she knew I made this all up .

"  I am going out so it's not technically a lie but it's not a date either , Marcus has been asking me out for a long time and finally I said I ' ll eat lunch with him but that's all . Although I did lie about the makeup and dressing up part though." I shrugged.

We ate breakfast at Mia's house and after that I left hurriedly to pack house to get ready . I grabbed on the first pair of jeans and a shirt in my cupboard and hopped into shower . I was running late so I grabbed my bag and ran outside . As I scurried through the pack's hall , I saw beta David scanning me for a moment and then a wide grin spread across his face . He knows I lied about everything ,my appearance is saying it all , but like heck I care .

Why is the one person I don't want to see is everywhere ?. It sure isn't my lucky day .

I ran past him as fast as my legs could carry me .

I thanked Goddess when I made to first class in time.
