Becoming a Dungeon Core

There will be mistakes as this is my first time writing. Talk - " " Think - [ ] System - ( ) Author thought - [[ ]] Action - * * In a massive world, many times larger than Earth. Is filled with gods, magic, hundreds of intelligent species, dragons, orcs, goblins, and more monsters and beasts. Yet, they all point swords at each other. This world is made up of several massive continents. Most of these continents are on the brink of war or already in war. Yet some continents somehow find peace with each other. But other than that, this world is mostly stable. But that all changes when souls from different times, dimensions, galaxies, and universes, somehow end up in their world, either being summoned to stop some kind of demon king, reincarnated, or transmigrated. These souls change the balance of the world, either for the good or bad, always leaving a mark on history. Though these foreign souls that are not summoned are really rare, maybe 2 come every thousand years, as summoned ones are called by the gods and people during a time of need. But what would happen when a soul comes to this world, with a powerful ability, one that can change the entire balance of the world? Most would expect this type of soul to be a powerful dragon or a newly born god, yet most wouldn't expect the soul to be a small crystal rock the size of a blueberry. This soul will have a tough time growing strong, especially since many more reincarnated, transmigrated, or summoned souls are popping out everywhere. With numerous foreign souls unintentionally traversing through the fissures of space and time into this new world, what prevents foreign entities from following suit? What safeguards are in place to prevent their invasion of the new world?

[For fuck sake] Alex's group once again found themselves in trouble. A man in a dark cloak was charging up an attack with a rapier, slowly covering the weapon with a grayish aura. Trouble ensued as soon as they approached each other.

Alex's drone, which was supposed to keep watch on the unknown individuals, was currently engaged in a battle against an unexpected eagle. The drone struggled to shoot down the eagle, which was utilizing wind magic to boost its speed, rendering it too fast for the drone's to react. The situation looked grim as the eagle skillfully dodged the shots and swiftly maneuvered itself out of the drone's view. Additionally, it would use its magic to launch effective attacks against the drone.

Meanwhile, Alex pondered his next move as his death angel was sprinting towards him. He also started to panic, he realized his most powerful allies were preoccupied: Warren was injured due to a sneak attack which led him to bleeding out on the floor, the drone was locked in combat, and the death angel was still a bit of a distance away from him.

Concerned about revealing his summoning abilities, he also doubted his other summons' ability to handle the attackers. However, when he observed Artin using his mana to fortify their barrier, and Warren who was on the floor, Alex suddenly remembered a crucial detail - he could unsummon anyone from anywhere while summoning them spawned them near him.

Pleased that he recalled this vital information, he unsummoned the Death Angel and awaited the perfect opportunity to summon it again, which came quickly.

The man charging up the attack finally released it, effortlessly piercing through the barrier and continuing towards his second target. Unfortunately, neither Alex nor Artin reacted in time to recognize the man's intended victim.

The assailant quickly struck Warren down with a single, swift attack.

[<DING > Warren has been killed. (7/7) days left until revive]

Artin was horrified by Warren's death; her face went pale with shock, and she froze in fear. Despite her experience killing various monsters, witnessing someone being killed in front of her was an entirely different experience.

Alex was extremely angry. Warren had helped him many times and saved him and the others from danger while he was summoned. But he still hesitated to strike.

"Hurry up and deal with her, we need to finish our quota," the man, who turned out to be a woman, instructed her underlings while facing away from Alex and Artin. The attack she had used had depleted half of her mana reserve. She had specifically used a large amount of mana for the attack because she could sense the significant amount of mana emanating from the barrier and the 'core' that the girl was holding.

After she finished speaking, a large, black, slim beast appeared right behind her. It swiftly raised its arm and sliced through the woman without her even noticing what had just happened. The other assailants emerged from their hiding spots to carry out their work, but froze when they saw their boss get sliced in half by the black creature.

Their training kicked in, and they prepared to fight. However, it was futile. Even though they were almost as quick as the black creature, it was far stronger than them. They could do nothing as the black creature effortlessly negated their spells, and their weapons couldn't penetrate its armor; they only left scratches.

Daggers bounced off the black beast's armor, and their swords could only scratch it. The magic spells they used had no impact. A fireball spell that would typically leave most people dead or severely burned simply rolled off the black beast. Any binding spell used on the creature only stunned it for a couple of seconds before it broke free with sheer strength.

The attackers all tried to escape and conceal themselves using magic, but the death angel's super hearing made that impossible. The black beast swiftly caught up with them, and they all perished without being able to harm it.

After completing its task, the beast feasted on its prey, allowed by its master. Before doing so, it brought the bodies to its master, who looted them.

Despite feeling a little disgusted with himself, Alex believed the people his death angel killed might have items of value. However, he made sure Artin wasn't looking and distracted her by claiming there was a person bound in rope high up in one of the trees.

Alex knew there was someone bound in the trees above because Gastly heard them crying and struggling to escape. He instructed his death angel to leave this person alone.

While reassuring Artin that everything would be fine, Alex noticed that she was still shaken up but somewhat able to perform a simple task. He then instructed her to go and help the person.

With Artin off to assist, Alex summoned Ethan and entered his body as he needed working hands to loot the bodies. He also called upon Trebor to help keep watch.

In total, the Death Angel quickly dealt with five attackers. Among them, there was one woman who appeared to be the boss, along with four men. All the bodies shared the same fate of being split into two pieces.

Once Alex finished examining the bodies, it was time to scavenge. He utilized his [Inventory] to simplify the process, ensuring that anything his robotic hand touched would disappear.

Among the items found on the bodies were bags of coins, mostly filled with bronze coins but with a few silver ones as well. He also looted some daggers coated with a slimy substance, a quiver containing arrows, and a single bow. Additionally, there were swords, a rapier, and six potions in total, consisting of three red potions, two blue potions, and one green potion. Other than these items, there was nothing else noteworthy except for a map. When he opened the map, a system notification appeared in front of him.

(<DING > [Map] been updated)

Observing this, he opened his [Map] and discovered that a large section of it had replicated the map in front of him. However, the updated section did not align with what he had previously seen. It seemed as though the updated portion of his map resembled normal high-quality paper maps from the 1700s, whereas the parts he already had on his [Map] before the update were even more advanced than Google Maps. Nevertheless, it was useful as it revealed towns, dungeons, routes, and other locations that were previously unknown to him.

As Alex was busy looting the bodies, Artin, with the help of Gastly, found the bound person. It turned out to be a young elven girl whom Alex would recognize once he saw her. It was Bella.

Artin didn't know who she was as they never met, and Alex never talked about her, as he thought it wasn't important.

Once Artin found her, she used a dagger that Alex had given her to cut the rope. It was a type of dagger called a British Naval Dagger. When she asked where it came from, Alex simply said 'The Brits', but she didn't even understand what he meant by 'The Brits'.

Seeing Artin freeing her from the rope, Bella started to cry again as once again, someone had once again saved her. She wants to become strong, but she hates that she is bad at almost everything. When she was young, she tried archery, as it was the weapon that most elves would use, but she was terrible at it, no matter how much she trained. It was the same with most weapons, whether it be daggers, swords, bows, or staffs. She always felt weird and awkward trying to use them.

When it came to magic, most people with elven blood would naturally have a higher affinity with nature, wind, and earth compared to other species, but she didn't possess those abilities. She hadn't found her type of magic and was considered the odd one out in her village. Fortunately, her family gave her all the love they could.

So far, she couldn't use her magic externally. When she attempted to draw any mana to her body, any mana with an elemental component seemed to avoid her. She could only use the elementless mana she possessed internally, which temporarily enhanced her physical strength, but her reserve wasn't much. She could maintain the enhancement for around 5 minutes before her reserve dried up. Strangely, she obtained a greater strength boost in comparison to the other people in her village.

Returning to the present, Bella thanked Artin, who was still distracted. Once she tidied herself up a bit, she went to express her gratitude to the others who were with her savior.

Alex finished looting the bodies and placed four of them in his [Inventory], leaving one out for the Death Angel to feast on, as his summons still maintained their biological functions – at least the ones that were actually 'alive'.

However, he had forgotten about something, but it was too late when he remembered. His drone was still fighting, somehow still operational. Alex quickly unsummoned it and summoned it in front of him to assess the damage.

As he did this, Bella noticed the device that had saved her in very bad condition. It was missing two of its 'wings', with smoke and sparks emitting from it. She also saw a slender 'golem' supporting it. It wasn't until she approached and heard a voice coming out of the 'golem'.

"Oh, it's you again. It's been a while since I last saw you," Alex spoke to her, expressing his relief that she was still alive. Bella didn't understand what the 'golem' was referring to, as she had never seen or spoken to it before.

Realizing that she didn't understand what he was talking about, Alex recounted the events in the dead forest and the dream where they had conversed. He revealed his true form, as she had mistaken him for the 'golem'.

Once she understood who Alex was, she also thanked him for saving her. Forming a quick plan to express gratitude to the people who had rescued her, she invited everyone to her place for some tea and snacks.

And don't worry the dungeon creation part is coming soon, after so many chapters. I did this because I wanted to introduce some characters and add some world building.
