Daily Routine

Waking up the next afternoon, Arslan lay naked on his bed, sheets discarded to the side, as he was alone in the quiet. The sound of running water filled the air as Mia, waking up before him, showered to freshen up. She planned to seek a new job wherever she could find one as her previous job had vanished after the news about the meeting and Elijah's arrest got to her ear earlier today.

As she bathed, Arslan's phone rang, prompting her to shout from the bathroom at him, "Hey babe, pick up your phone!" She assumed the call was important given the recent events that were unfolding around them and considering his occupation. 

Groggily, Arslan opened his eyes and reached for his phone that was on the cabinart before he answered with a sleepy "Hello!" escaping his lips. But confusion soon set in as the ringing kept going, clearly not coming from the phone he held in his hands.
