Going out

Anxiety began to kick in when Amanda called to apologize that she wouldn't be coming to the party because her father figured out she was sneaking out of town and now she was grounded.

What was he going to do?

He couldn't imagine himself at a party where someone he was very familiar with, like Amanda, wasn't present. He had been uncomfortable during the last party even though Simon and Amanda had been there. What was he going to do now that none of them was attending?

(You still coming, right? You won't be allowed in if you're not coming with gifts.)

Chris's text said and a winking emoticon followed it.

Gifts. He had to buy gifts too.

How was he going to do all this?
