Captain Jameson's voice was low and even, "Alright, let's get some rest. We'll continue our journey at dawn."
The soldiers nodded, their eyes heavy with fatigue. Peter and Sophia settled in, their minds racing with thoughts of the crystal and their mission.
But as they slept, a figure crept through the shadows. A traitor among the soldiers, whose name was revealed to be Victor.
Victor's eyes gleamed with malice as he snatched the crystal from its resting place. He turned to flee, but not before casting a sinister glance at the sleeping soldiers.
"Tomorrow, they'll realize what's happened," Victor whispered to himself. "And by then, it'll be too late."
As Victor disappeared into the night, the soldiers slumbered on, unaware of the betrayal that had just occurred.
The next morning, Captain Jameson's face fell as he realized the crystal was gone. "It can't be," he muttered. "Who could have done this?"
