Chapter 5: Mental Thread

A disk made out of ice flew out Yuki's hand with great speed, Hiroto was forced to dodge the attack by jumping backwards.

The disk hit a wall and easily broke into pieces, the tornado that enveloped Yuki disappeared.

Hiroto turned his attention towards the broken ice disk and looked at Yuki who had a smile on his face.

"Yuki Kinatarou is declared the winner." The referee shouted energetically.

Hiroto was confused by what the referee said. He looked around and noticed he had stepped off the mat.

'That disk was incredibly easy to break, I could have broken it with my hands yet I

jumped of the mat. He put little ki into the disk because he knew I would jump backwards. I was tricked by him, Yuki Kinatarou I'll make you pay for this.'

Hiroto thought as he angrily walked out the room.

'He left without saying anything, how rude.' Yuki thought.

The girls in the room stared at Yuki with sparkling eyes, of course this made the guys jealous.

"Why are they all staring at him like that, didn't they avoid him because he was weak." Tamiko mumbled when she noticed their gazes.

Yuki suddenly hugged himself and started rolling on the ground.

Everyone was shocked by this action.

"I'm stronger than before, I actually beat Hiroto easily. Fighting is so fun, why didn't I do this before. Maybe I can beat Tensu." Yuki said with stars in his eyes.

A girl with black long hair, a golden streak of hair, golden coloured eyes and glasses was watching Yuki from the door.

"He really is a five year old." She said to her self.

Yuki stopped rolling around when he noticed someone approaching him. Everyone had already left the room, leaving only Yuki, Derek and Tamiko in the room.

"After you defeated Hiroto in a smart way, you returned to your naturally playful self and celebrated like a child." Tamiko scolded and hit him on the head.

"Ouch, why didn't you just hug and congratulate me instead of hitting." He teased her a bit.

Her face turned red and she averted her gaze from him. "You just hugged your self, you don't need my hug anymore." She said with a red face.

'Why is she talking like that?'

Yuki was a bit confused by her statement.

'He's an idiot even when it comes to girls.' Derek thought.

Yuki had no idea how to deal with girls, so he spoke to them without watching his words.

The trio got up and walked to class, the classes ended rather quickly.

Yuki said goodbye to his friends and was about to walk home when he saw Sophia Uzushi. He walked up to her and said hi.

"You really have a childish personality." Sophia said.

"What do you mean?" He asked with a confused expression.

"Your childish celebration. You won in a smart way and celebrated like a child." She flashed a smile at him.

"Ohh, well it was kinda a natural act for me." He scratched the back of his head and said. "I would like to hear how you saved me now."

"My house is in the same street as yours, I'll tell you on the way." She walked infront while speaking.

Yuki followed behind her. While walking she explained how she supposedly saved him.

"While you were taking a beating from Tensu and his gang I was at the entrance of the alley. I used my kizo to calm you guys down."

"Could you explain a bit more?" Yuki didn't completely understand what she just said.

"One of my base kizo is a mental thread. It's a thread that can only be seen by the mind's eye which is located here." She pointed at her right eye and continued. "I can connect the mental thread to a person's forehead and gain access to that person's mind and emotions. Unfortunately I can't gain control over a person's mind yet, cause I'm not strong enough."

"So it's basically like mind control or mind reading?" Yuki asked.

"If you want to put it simply, then yes." She answered.

"You said you didn't have control over a person's mind only thier emotions right?"

"Yes." She answered.

"So you can control a person's emotions?" Yuki asked.

"Yes, but it will require a lot of ki. When I attached the mental thread to you and Tensu, I calmed you guys down causing him not to beat you up."

"So that's why we talked like friends. But I have one more question." Yuki said.

"Go ahead." She adjusted her glasses and said.

"Do you need to touch a person to attach the mental thread to them?" He asked.

"No. There's more about the mental thread I haven't told you." She said in a soft voice.

"I would like to know more, please." He had gotten obsessed with the topic.

"I'll tell you about it next time." She said.

Yuki stopped walking, she noticed that he had stopped and looked at him.

"Uzushi-san, I thank you for saving me. I shall repay when I have the chance." Yuki sincerely thanked her.

Sophia smiled at Yuki. "Being formal doesn't suit you at all." Although he was quite nice, she viewed him as the casual type.

Yuki smiled back at her. "Thank you again Uzushi-san." Yuki noticed he had gotten home. He said goodbye to Sophia and walked inside.

Yuki walked into his apartment, took a shower and changed his clothes. He sat down for a while because he was tired. Although he didn't use much of his ki in the fight he was still tired. His heart disease had caused his body to provide him with very little ki, so just using his kizo a bit had made him exhausted.

He called one of his co-workers and informed them that he wouldn't be coming to work today. He was extremely bored when he heard a knock on his door.

He opened it and found Hana standing there while holding a lunchbox.

"G..Good afternoon Yuki." She said.

"Good afternoon, can I help you?" Yuki's greeting was filled with exhaustion.

"Are you okay? What happened to your face?" Her expression became a worried one when she noticed his exhaustion and the bandage on his face.

"Oh, I got hit by something stupid. You don't need to worry." He flashed a bright smile at her.

She felt a bit of relief. And then thought.

'Wait, why am I so worried about him? It's not like we are close.'

Yuki noticed she was lost in thought so he asked her about the lunch box she was carrying.

"Actually it's for you." She said and handed it to him.

He took the lunch box and smiled at her.

"Thank you, I was getting hungry and bored."

"I.. It wasn't.... It was my aunt that suggested I give it to you." She managed to say a few words.

"I have to go my aunt might be waiting for me." She left just like that.

"She's pretty nice." Yuki said before closing his door.

In an abandoned warehouse.

A group of men wearing black were standing in a circle. In the middle of the circle was a man wearing sunglasses, he had an arrogant look and a huge scar stretched across his face. He seemed to be the leader of the the group.

Across the scared man was a man tied up and covered in blood and wounds lying on the ground

The man who was tied up was Yuki's class teacher. He was kidnapped by this group of men who beat him and forced him to tell them the names of all the kids in the school. Yuki's teacher eventually had the names but they still beat him up.

"Don't worry I'll end your pain." The man with a scar on his face said with an evil smile revealing some silver teeth. They were incredibly sharp and looked liked his mouth was filled with silver spikes.

The scared man pulled out his gun and pointed it at Yuki's teacher.

"Please, I beg you don't kill me!!! Pleeeeeaaaassssee!!!" Yuki's teacher begged for mercy as he saw his life flash before his eyes.

Bang

The sound of a gunshot echoed throughout the warehouse. The scared man had shot him in the head causing his blood and some tiny pieces of his brain to splatter all over the floor.

These men were part of a mafia called "Black Bear" . The man who had shot Yuki's teacher was the leader of the Mafia. His alias was Silver bear, he was known for his ruthless attitude and his killing of innocent people.

At Yuki's apartment.

Yuki was enjoying the delicious food brought to him by Hana. He enjoyed it and it made him even more hungry. Yuki liked to eat alot but the food Hana brought him was not enough to satisfy him.

He washed up the lunch box and went to return it to Hana.

"Did you like the food?" She asked with anticipation.

"It was great, but I'm not quite filled. Would you like to come with me to Dreamland Restaurant so we can get something to eat?" Yuki said with a smile.

Hana remembered the chocolate cake Yuki had served her before.

"Of course!" She immediately accepted, she had a beautiful smile on her face.

'She's really cute.' Yuki praised her looks in his mind.
