Fawn awoke to find it was already morning.

Even before opening his eyes, he smelled the aroma of roasted meat, provoking his stomach to grumble loudly.

He sat up, only to feel sore all over. Back at the winery, he'd been the master, sleeping in a soft, large bed. Yet, last night he'd slept on the ground, and his old bones really couldn't endure such torment.

"Master, you're awake. Have something to eat first."

The source of the aroma was the beast meat Peiya had roasted.

Fawn took the roasted meat Peiya handed him and ate a few bites. Noticing his daughter sitting under a nearby tree, lost in thought, he asked:

"Sally, have you eaten already?"

"I'm not hungry." Sally glanced at the roasted meat in her father's hand and shook her head.

When Fawn finished eating, the three of them continued on their journey. Their destination was the border city Aetra. They planned to rent a carriage there, and then head to the nearby small country of Zahari, where Sally's grandmother lived.
