The spine of the world, a mountain range located in the center of the Aeos Continent, was considered by people to be the closest place to the gods' abode on earth. Thus, many temples built by humans were situated there.
Even though the summit was bitterly cold, every year, countless pilgrims still climbed to the temple at the peak in the hope of receiving divine revelation.
In the midst of the wind and snow, another pilgrim arrived at the highest temple. It was a simple stone temple constructed without a roof, having only walls made of piled square stones.
Given the limited space at the summit, the temple's area was also rather small, probably just about ten meters wide.
Strangely, even without a roof, not a single snowflake fell within the stone walls, and the howling wind was blocked outside as if some mysterious power was protecting the temple.
In the center of the temple was an altar, upon which lay a circular stone container. Aside from that, there was nothing else here.
