Back Off, the Best Actor is Mine

In Serene’s past life, she gave up her dream for her beloved—only for him to cheat on her, leaving her with a broken heart and a dead child. Given a second chance, Serene is determined to take revenge on all who wronged her, starting with developing the career that should’ve taken off if it weren’t for her wretched ex-husband. This time, she will be the screenwriter of her own life! When fate pushes her to meet the hunky actor, Damon Wilson, sparks inevitably fly. Together, can she and the prince of the silver screen rise above their enemies? — “You built me back up Serene,” Damon whispered into my ear, his lips grazing down my ear lobe to the nape of my neck. His hand cupped my breast, massaging my past heartbreak away. “Damon, you did it all by yourself,” I uttered, releasing a slight moan as his mouth cascaded down to my chest. “It doesn't matter. All I know is I'm yours, forever.” Back Off, the Best Actor is Mine is created by Bella Gold, an eGlobal Creative Publishing author.

Chapter 20: A Lunch Date With My Superstar Boyfriend

*Serene POV*

I could barely contain my laughter as Damon walked in. He looked at me slightly perplexed and asked me if his hair was standing up or something. I gestured for him to sit down, and he obliged.

“I just heard some hilarious gossip,” I told him. He rolled his eyes at me and seemed about to protest.

“No, no,” I refuted, placing my hand over his and insisting he listen. “I just overheard some kids chit-chatting about our show and Rufus’s show. They seem to have some inside information about the studios.”

“Oh, yes, our most reliable news source: children,” he joked at the same time he was playing with my fingers.

“Okay, okay,” I confessed while giggling. “I know it's not fact-checked, but basically, what they said was the studio producing Rufus’ show is bleeding dry. No one’s tuning in to their program because of our show!”

“Victory!” he exclaimed happily, kissing my hands with subtle pecks from his plump lips. “You keep saying ‘our show’. It’s your show, you know?”
