Ayumi

I am Ayumi Madrigal, the sole Survivor of Katana pack. Katana Pack are werewolves who are blessed with abilities sought after by people. Abilities we can harness when we turn 18 years old after our first shift. We share these abilities with our true mate, mate chosen by the Moon Goddess. Once a Katana member dies our abilities are passed on to our family member or our mate. Making them acquire more strength, providing them with a new ability. I have been hunted for 8 years now by Tibolo pack; the people responsible for my packs' demise. Although I am powerful, revenge is not an option. Surviving is my priority. I have discovered recently that my mate is the only Son of Alpha Apollo Saavedra head of Tibolo pack. He is my hunter who turned prey. Will he survive the surge of pain till the full moon? How will his pack accept the fact that now I am paired by the Moon Goddess to its future Alpha.

Thrilled

I left Caleb then opted to head to my office. He kept on denying Marxell was indeed his mate, but he started whining when I decided to push Marxell to her limits. Devon my mate and Caleb have one thing in common, they both suck at dealing with their mate at their first encounter.

Most wolves would grab every chance to stay alongside their mate, worship their mate and make sure to let them feel beloved. But Caleb and my Devon were different kinds of species. A disappointing kind. How dare he accuse me of power tripping? I put my lips just by thinking his retorts as I stood in front of the door of my office.

That's when I noticed Devon approaching me with a gleeful smile plastered on his face. I rolled my eyes the instant our eyes met. I quickly opened the door and tried slamming it close, but he stopped it with his palm then worriedly stared at me. I walked towards the couch inside my office the slumped my back to it.

"What did I do?" Devon asked.

"Nothing." I instantly replied. Avoiding gazing at his face. Devon couldn't help but sighed.

"I do not want to argue with you because one argument leads to another... but could you at least give a hint so that I could make it up to you?" Devon sounded begging.

"Why did you deny me again when we first met?" I briefly asked.

"I wanted to protect you." Is this because of Caleb?" Devon replied.

"Noooooo?!" I denied. "I just feel irritated with you these days, I do not know why." I whined. "But if I do not see you, I feel angrier." I admitted. He walked toward the couch where I was seated then stood in front of me.

"Can I hug you?" Devon pleaded. I stood up and placed both of my arms around his waist as I felt his arms wrapped around me. I squeezed myself towards him then buried my face on his neck where my mark was. I inhaled his scent which has a soothing effect. All my anger vanishes in an instant.

"I do not know how long this mood swings of yours will end but I am starting to get scared with how pregnancy hormone is doing to you." I heard Devon said. I took a step back and stared at his fac and furrowed my brows.

"Are you complaining now?" I asked him. He quickly bent and gave me a peck on my lips.

"Oh no no..." he said as he was continuously giving me kisses. I could not help but smile.

"Do you want something? I am going to get it for you." Devon smiled then asked.

"Hmmmm strawberries with ketchup." I happily answered. But Devon bewilderedly stared at me then he shook his head then smiled again.

"Hmmm ok no judgement. Be right back." I heard him say.

"Oh no need, I know you have tons of things to do. Just let a servant bring my strawberries here." I answered I knew how busy he was these days. Devon nodded then smiled then gave me a delightful kiss on my lips.

"Then I will leave you be, do not forget to take some rest." he said then walked towards the door and closed it. I could not help but smile at how Devon was patient with my mood swings and understanding my appetite.

I walked towards my desk and started scanning through the files that were sent for my approval. Although Devon is our Alpha, I am the one whose been managing our business outside our pack territory. Devon dealt with so many issues with our pack security and territorial concerns that I had to step into dealing with our clients and outsourcing. This kept our pack financially stable, and these businesses provided support for our needs.

I was busy the whole afternoon, so I barely noticed it was almost nighttime. The only thing that kept me from getting hungry was the strawberry and ketchup sent by Devon earlier. I stretched my arms and could not help but yawn. I had meeting after meeting with our business partner and had discussed things with our manager.

Then I have realized, I have not checked on Marxell that was sent to the infirmary after the sparring session. I did not intend to neglect her, but I was busy earlier, so I have completely forgotten about her. So, I hurriedly walked out of my office and decided to head out to the infirmary to check on her. I was about to arrive at the infirmary, which was near the building of my office, when I met Caleb. I noticed that he was about to tell me something....

"Do not start whining with me again Caleb because I am going to punch you in the face if you do so." I deliberately warned Caleb. I raised both his arms in the air and allowed me to walk past him. I briskly walked towards Marxell room and opted not to deal with Caleb like earlier.

As I entered Marxell, I noticed she was depressed as she lay in her bed. I noticed the bruises on the side of her cheeks and her busted lip. She quickly sat on her bed as I sat on the chair next to her bed. As I stared at her face, I realized this was the reason why Caleb wouldn't quit being melodramatic about what had happened earlier.

"Sorry for disappointing you earlier, Luna." I heard Marxell said. I stared at her for a while then could not help but smile.

"You are not disappointing at all." I answered back. I tried my best to reassure her.

"But you asked me to apply everything that I have learned from you, but I could not even land a single blow on my opponent." She stated honestly.

"I was not expecting you to defeat anyone because I thought you. Most of the trainees that were in the arena earlier had been trained prior to being thought here. I assumed this was your first sparring. Am I right?" I told back.

"Yes, Luna Ayumi." she answered in her dismayed tone.

"I was not disappointed in you at all, let us clear this up. I am even thrilled to teach you since I have seen how determined you were earlier. You weren't the vulnerable princess in that arena earlier. You acted like a warrior despite lacking fighting skills and experience. As a mentor, it was thrilling to watch how determined you were." I explained. She then stared at me with a questioning look.

"It is easy to teach fighting techniques, but I can't teach you to be a determined fighter. No one can." I added.
