Careful

After a long and tiring night, the next morning when Adiria woke up, she felt aching throughout her entire body.

The girl sat up on her bed then stretched off before yawning and just when she was about to get up, she noticed herself in the mirror and her eyes were glowing brightly.

She got up from her bed immediately and went to the mirror, where she saw two markings in her eyes and wondered why they were there.

'What the hell is going on with my body? Things like this has never happened to me before now and it feels weird, ' She thought before exhaling deeply.

The girl grabbed her clothes the went to freshen up, even though she was not feeling well for she had a lot of work to do and couldn't fall behind.

A little while after, when she finished taking her bath, she got dressed and then left the room to go to the kitchen to get something to eat, for she was hungry.

Upon arriving at the kitchen, she noticed some of the servants there, were looking at her in a weird way, while mumbling other things and her eyes narrowed as she looked at them.

"Hey, do you guys have something to say to me right now? " She asked with piercing look in her eyes and no one answered her.

"Forget them, they don't know how to do anything better either way, you come and eat, I know you have a lot on your plate, " The head cook said and she smiled at him then sat down.

He served her breakfast and she thanked him then began eating, since she was very hungry because she didn't have dinner the night before.

"The food is delicious, thank you, " She said and he smiled before sitting down with her.

"You are not well, why don't you take the day off? " He asked and she sighed.

"I am okay, don't worry about me, I do not need a day off, I will get through this just fine, it is only a few minor injuries, " She responded and he scoffed.

"You really do not like giving up, well, suit yourself, come back if you are feeling peckish later, I am making pastries, " He said and she smiled at him.

A little while after, when she finished eating her breakfast, she remembered that the king had asked her to meet him in the throne room of the main palace and she sighed.

'I really don't want to go and meet him, but I don't think I have much of a choice at this point, I have already gotten too involved in this, ' She thought before getting up.

The girl left the kitchen, heading to the main palace to meet the emperor, but on her way there, she bumped into the young master and before she could fall, he grabbed onto her waist, holding her up and she grabbed onto his arms.

Both of them left staring at each other and the man who was working with Sorang, scoffed as he looked at the two and a smirk appeared on his face as he stared at the girl.

"Where are you off to, Adiria? " He asked and she looked at the way he was holding her then moved back and he released her.

"I am going to meet the emperor, he told me to visit him, last night, it seems somewhat important, " She responded and he scoffed.

"I am sure it is, fine, I will come with you, " He said.

"Why? " She asked.

"Because I want to and I am your master, I have a right, whether you like it or not, " He responded as she stared at him and then scoffed, knowing that there would be no point in arguing with him.

"Fine, let's just go, I don't have that much energy to waste anyway, " She said as she walked away and he as well as the one who was working with him, followed her.

After a few minutes of walking, they arrived in the throne room, where they saw the emperor was already there, waiting and they all bowed their heads, then Sorang and the guy stood aside.

The emperor looked at Adiria with curiosity in his eyes and she saw that then sighed before lowering her head, waiting for him to say something.

"I have to say, you are one interesting young lady, there is a lot of mystery surrounding you, but that aside, you did a great job one which was not yours to do and you didn't have to do it, yet you did, you risked your life, let me ask, did you do it hoping to gain something in return? " He asked.

At the same time, Adiria looked at him with quite a serious expression on her face, showing that she was displeased by the way he was thinking.

"I guess people have done these kinds of things before to make you think like that huh? But, you know, not everyone is the same pack of cards, thinking like that may make you judge an innocent wrongfully one day, I did it without hoping for anything in return, " She responded.

"You are smarter than you seem, you catch onto things pretty fast, " He said.

"That is because I pay attention to my surroundings and I am careful with whom I associate myself with, I saved the kid because I like him, he is innocent and has nothing to do with any of your conflicts, he does deserve to be punished for it, that is my only reason, with all due respect, if you don't believe me, I don't care," She replied.

After hearing her say that and seeing the way she was looking at the emperor, with no fear in her eyes, made Sorang smile.

"You are brave to talk to me in that tone, " He said.

"I am only being honest, " She replied and he chuckled.

"I can see why Lady Angel took a liking to you, I believe you and I am waiting to see what more you can do, from today onwards you will protect the child at any cost, and work with Sorang, you officially belong to him, I will be promoting you as well, tell me, what do you want? " He asked as she stared at him, knowing that she had to be careful with her next decision, for it could impact her in many ways.
