Saving the Mutants!

" Welcome Robbie, to the resistance. We don't have many with us. But what we lack in numbers we more than make up for in the quality of our heroes."

Clark explained to the young hero as he showed him around the resistance Hq.

" Thank you for getting me out of there man. Seriously. I can't thank you enough."

Robbie said to the man.

" I wasn't going to leave in you in there kid. Not when what happened wasn't your fault. Now, come on I'm going to show you where you'll be bunking. I've got a couple more things to do before my shift tonight."

Clark said to the boy.

" Shift?"

Robbie asked the man curiously.

" Between Cap, Daredevil, Cage, and I. We all take shifts watching the base while the others get sleep. Due to my powers, I can go for days and possibly months without sleep. So, I take the majority of the shifts allowing the others a proper chance to rest."

Clark explained as he opened the door to Robbie's bunk.

" Alright, kid. Here you go. If you need anything write it down and I'll get it for you. It helps to be so fast; no camera can spot you going or out of stores."

Clark joked as he walked away from the boy.

" Alright, got him situated now it's time to see how the Mutants are doing."

He stepped out of the Hidden bunker and took off towards Xavier's Institute.

' Oh, man. Things have gotten really out of hand lately. This is insanity. More and more resistance fighters across America are falling every second.'

Clark thought to himself.

" UGh! Gotta put a stop to this soon. But how? Beating them into submission clearly isn't going to work. And though we sway the opinion of the people by the day. We are still heavily opposed. Just gonna have to do what Prime does best, I guess. Time for a blood bath."

Clark declared to himself as his eyes burned red from his heat vision.

Clark knew a fierce battle was coming and resolved himself to beat his opponents so badly they'd be terrified to face him again.

" But first. I do want to make sure the Mutants are okay. If I can. I want to try and make their lives a little easier. They're already on the brink of extinction as it is."

Clark said to himself as he got closer and closer to Xavier's Institute. But as he flew certain sounds stood out to him. As he approached, he noticed the sounds of Shuffling in the nearby forests of the institute.

" Now, we shall deliver a blow to these devils that they will never recover from."

A man who would be known to others as Reverend William Stryker said to his purifiers as they readied themselves to attack the school.

" What the hell?"

Clark asked as he looked down at the small army. He then turned his head to see two school buses full of the students who had lost their powers leaving the school when out from the forest Stryker and his men fired two RPG's at the busses. Clark's eyes widened in terror and rage as the man attacked the kids.

" FUCK!"

Clark cursed as he flew down towards the buses.

Thankfully before the rockets could hit and kill their targets Clark snatched the two rockets up in the air and turned them back towards their senders.

" Here, have these back you sick fucks!"

Clark yelled as he launched the rockets back at the men. Soon explosions went off and the sound of screams rang out from the forest. The two buses quickly returned to the school and the X-Men began unloading the students back into the safety of the school walls.

" What happened?!"

Logan asked as he and a few other teachers ran out to the buses.

" Superman stopped the rockets."

Brian former member of the hellions said as he ran past the men and women.

The group of heroes looked up into the air to see the man still floating there.

Clark looked down also spotting the X-Men and nodded before flying into the forest to finish off the remaining purifiers.

Clark flew through the smoldering remains of the forested area and arrived in front of stryker and his men.

" You see, Stryker. There are two things you don't do when I'm around. And one of those things... Is hurt children."

Clark said to the man.

" Who do you think you are?! Don't you know who I am?! I'm REVEREND STRYKER! ARGHHHH!"

Stryker yelled but as he was Clark burned a hole through his head with his heat vision.

" You were!"

Clark said to the man's dead body.

Clark then turned to the rest of the men and in an instant snapped their necks.

" Be good to the good. But be wicked to the wicked. Ugh! Alright. Now let's go check on those kids."

Clark said to himself as he turned to go to the mansion, but not before burning the bodies to ash.

It took Clark mere seconds to get to the front doors of the institute.

Clark knocked and was greeted by none other than Cyclops, the current headmaster of the school and leader of the X-Men.

" Mind, letting me in. I'm not exactly out to show my face right now."

Clark said to the man.

Scott nodded and stepped to the side to allow the man entrance. And to his surprise he was greeted by a round of applause and cheers from the school.

" Whoa! What's going on?"

Clark asked in confusion.

" Thank you for saving us Superman!"

One of the young girls said as she hugged the man.

Clark smiled and knelt over to give the girl a hug.

" Alright, children back to the lower levels. They could still be out there!"

Emma yelled to the students.

" Do as your teacher said students. I'll stay for a while to make sure things are okay."

Clark said to the kids.

He watched as they were led down to the lower levels by Bobby before turning to Scott and the others.

" Well?"

Logan asked the man.

" Well, they won't be a problem anymore. It's crazy I came here tonight to see how things were going."

Clark said to the others.

" Thankfully you did. Or else well."

Scott said to the man.

" Yeah. What were you thinking Scott? Sending those kids out would only make them a target for people like Stryker."

Clark said to the man.

"' We were thinking this place was too dangerous for them now. Seeing as how almost all of them have no powers and even most of their teachers have been depowered. We just wanted them safe."

Emma said to the man.

" Them leaving isn't going to make them safe, Emma. What are they going to do once they are out there in the world alone and powerless? Who's going to save them then? Even I can't be everywhere at once. Guys, come on. There's no way you could have really thought this was a good idea. I mean, where were you going to send them anyway? Back to their parents? Yeah, I'm sure some of them would be welcomed back with open arms. But what about the others? What would Jean say to you Scott if she knew you tried to abandon those kids man?"

Clark asked the man as he placed his hand on his shoulder.

Scott and the rest of the teachers looked down in shame.

" Well, I took care of the problem tonight. I wish I could stay longer. But the longer I'm here the more likely Stark is to find me here. And that would only cause trouble for all of you. So, I'll let these be my parting words. Don't abandon those kids because they aren't mutants anymore. Their powers may be gone. But they will always be your family, Scott. Those kids look up to you... All of you. Don't betray the trust they've given you."

Clark said before leaving the Institute.
