Darian led the way, his sharp eyes scanning the path ahead, while Mara kept an eye on the rocky cliffs to their left. Selene walked at a slower pace, still regaining her strength after the powerful spell she had cast to dispel the Voidspawn. Wei Lin, ever watchful, brought up the rear, her hand never far from the hilt of her sword.
"We're getting close to the first mountain pass," Darian called back. "But these trails… they've changed. The old markers are gone."
Wei Lin frowned, glancing around. "That's not a good sign. The Void's influence could be warping the land itself. Keep your guard up."
Mara nodded, tapping her staff against the rocky ground, her eyes sharp. "It feels like the very air here is thick with malice. We should be ready for anything."
A low rumble echoed through the mountains, a deep, ominous sound that caused the group to stop in their tracks. Wei Lin turned to face the source of the noise, her heart pounding.
