Perseus POV
The castle's alarm can be heard all throughout the capital and if I don't get away soon, this whole empire will go further than just plastering my face on wanted boards for aspiring bounty hunters.
With a quick glance over my shoulder, I set off at a sprint, my heart pounding in my chest as I raced through the capital. Behind me, I could hear the heavy footfalls of my pursuers, their shouts echoing through the night air. I gritted my teeth and pushed myself to run faster, my breath coming in ragged gasps as I dodged and weaved through the now-crowded streets.
People were coming out to check what the emergency alarm was about, which helped me as it's now harder to pursue me.
But even as I ran, I knew that I couldn't outrun them forever. With each passing moment, the sound of their footsteps grew louder, drawing closer with every step.
And then, without warning, the first blast of magic exploded in front of me, sending chunks of debris flying in all directions. I skidded to a stop, my heart pounding in my chest as I stared at the smoldering crater that now marked my path.
Sensing several more, I ducked behind a nearby building, seeking cover from the barrage of spells that rained down upon me. The air crackled with energy as bolts of lightning streaked through the streets, hitting some civilians as well.
With a nod, Elpis then flashed the whole street before I emerged from my hiding place and returned fire, unleashing a barrage of spells upon my attackers. Fireballs exploded in bursts of flame to provide more coverage and have a lesser chance of missing. I even picked up nearby debris and threw them in their direction.
I ran and repeated the same process several more times, but it's getting less and less effective. So I just kept running and didn't look back, the eyes of Ra helped boost my physical capability and made me faster than the mages, and the eye of Horus helped heal my injuries.
I eventually reached the city walls and saw that the gates were closed, so I just rushed to it and jumped over the whole wall with a boost of wind magic. With a final burst of energy, I cleared the wall and landed in a crouch on the other side, the impact hurting my legs for a bit
As I rose to my feet, I spared a quick glance over my shoulder and saw a few relentless chasers. But there was no time for hesitation. I slammed my palm onto the ground created hardened dirt spikes and shot them at the mages, they were caught off guard by that and were impaled.
I then turned and dashed into the nearby woods. As I ran, my senses were on high alert, every rustle of leaves and snap of twigs sending a jolt of adrenaline coursing through my veins. I could sense the presence of my pursuers lurking just beyond the treeline, their footsteps echoing ominously as they closed in.
With each passing moment, I pushed myself to run faster, to outpace my pursuers and disappear into the safety of the wilderness. For I knew that my freedom hung in the balance, and that failure was not an option.
Eventually, the sound stopped, I turned to see that Lind was smiling and waving at me as he held some large burly mage and lifted him with one arm.

"Say, you ran pretty fast there." Lind commented, "I wouldn't mind you joining my squad when you're given the choice."
"What does this squad even do?"
"Recon, scouting, recruiting, and assassinations, but I also would rank us as top 3 in combat prowess, we're also pretty good at jure head-on combat despite specializing in agility and mobility."
"That doesn't sound too bad, but what do you mean given the choice?"
"Since I'm backing you and since we got witnesses to your physical capability, I'm pretty sure that you'll be allowed to join under squads of your choosing since I'm personally recommending you, there are many tempting ones, even if they are not top 5 in combat."
"How so?"
"Didn't you say that you want resources? My squad is the poorest in that regard."
"How poor are we talking about?"
"What do you plan to do?"
"Kill the demon god."
"What for?"
"Power, I wish to escape this world, either that or beat the abyss dungeon, to get my wish."
"Do other worlds even exist?"
"I know they do."
"Then that can be the truth that you're seeking, you'll get along with the others smoothly."

3rd Person POV
In a dark meeting room, 6 shadowy figures gathered around a round table with their identities obscured by the veil of darkness that cloaked their features. Their faces were shrouded in secrecy, their voices low and murmured as they spoke.
"Lind has brought forth a new recruit," a figure with an older man's voice spoke, "One with potential, a descendant of Sam Wyatt, and a demon kin at that. She personally recommended him as he helped with their recent assassination success."
The other figures leaned forward in their seats, their interest piqued by the revelation. They exchanged knowing glances amongst themselves.
"A descendant of Sam Wyatt," a buff male figure mused, "Intriguing indeed. It seems our ranks may soon gain a valuable asset. How good is he? I mean if it's just due to his normal superior physical prowess, it's not that useful."
"She called him an impressive talent." the first figure replied, "Lind is a good judge of talent, she wouldn't lie, especially when she's personally recommending him, the other witness also said that he has potential, more than the one who's close with that prince."
"Oh?" a third female figure joined in with an intrigued tone, "I've seen him, Henry rank 12th for his grade for a reason, and that's with teachers lowering his grades and discriminating against him."
"Lind was there with you." the first figure replied, "she knows what she's talking about."
"She's the weakest here."
"She's still a great leader, her squad is more loyal to here than our whole organization." the first figure chided, "But she did also say what separates this Perseus from Henry is that he's willing to kill, something that can be useful for us."
