Synopsis

The 'Triad of the Night' is a worldwide organization recognized in all Asian, American and other continent countries, who are afraid that one day they will start their movements. Park Chan-woo, its leader and patriarch, holds the title of 'Monarch', which is only given by the previous Monarch. Park Chan-woo swore an oath. 'I promise that I will kill all the members of the Tríada of the night, including the Seven Seats of the organization; with that, my organization will definitely die'. The Seven Seats, who were the seven strongest members of the organization, and Monarch Park Chan-woo went to war and both sides were decimated. Park Chan-woo was the greatest assassin, but he actually wanted such a life; not really, that's why he decided to step aside from the greatest organization in the world. However, he never imagined that he would be reincarnated in a world with magic, where someone with his talent would live as he had always wished. The only problem is that the strong lead that world and so do the nobles.

Episode 0 - Triad of the Night

─────────────────────────────────

Whisper.

Black rain fell.

They say black rain has a meaning.

Yes.

A meaning that signifies death.

I could see the black droplets falling on my face amidst the thousands of bodies of the Triad of the Night members.

"Haa... This… A rain without anything, huh?"

A weak, bitter, emotionless smile appeared on my face.

"Haha."

I burst into laughter like a madman, not even knowing why.

Before me, all I could see were the corpses of my organization's members.

Because I killed them.

However.

No matter how strong the human body is, it has a limit. Even if I couldn't feel pain or emotions like a normal person, I was still a weak human with a physical limit.

I lowered my gaze as the rain intensified, and the sound of raindrops hitting the ground grew louder.

Until I heard a voice a few meters in front of me.

"Ugh... This is such a mess. Haha, are you seriously human… Monarch Park Chan-woo?"

"....."

Yes, I am human. But a different kind of human.

"Damn it, seriously, why did you betray us? You could have just abandoned everything and passed the title of Monarch to someone else… But instead, you erased it all."

The man's voice before me was broken and weak. Half of his body had been cleanly severed, yet he was still speaking.

And you still question whether I am human.

Look at yourself.

"Anyway… Ugh..."

You can barely speak.

The Seven Seats of the Triad of The Night.

The man before me was the Number One Seat of the organization the second strongest after me.

The rest of the Seats must have died long ago.

Yet, this guy was still alive.

"Why the betrayal, Monarch?"

"....."

My mouth opened slowly, but I couldn't say anything.

"I'm worse off than you and yet you still don't answer me... I thought you'd be the first Monarch to make a real breakthrough... Not like the ones before."

I no longer consider myself the Monarch of the Triad of the Night.

Not for years now.

"Anyway… Ugh… We'll die. However… Damn bastard, I'll chase you even in death."

His eyes slowly closed.

I could see it the moment his breathing neared its end.

My mouth opened slowly, and I managed to utter a few words.

"I was simply deceived all this time…"

"....."

A weak smile appeared on his face.

"Ha, go to hell, bastard."

His breathing stopped, and his eyes shut, marking the end of this war against the world's largest assassin organization.

A war where every single member of the Triad of the Night died because of me.

It was finally over.

"What can I say… If it weren't for you… I… would have never realized it…"

My eyes began to close as my heart slowed its beating.

"Thank you for… telling me the truth…"

The black rain fell harder than ever, but at that moment, I felt it.

For the first time in my life.

Emotion.

It was sorrow and joy.

After dying alongside my organization…

Earth's Greatest Magus

#Top 20 Webnovel Best Sellers 2021, 2022, 2023, and in 2024 #### History is said to be written by the victors. If so, how about Earth's history? Two millennia ago, a young boy named Emery met a tragic fate. In his final moments, he was transmigrated and accepted into the Universe's most prestigious school of magic. “You are among the chosen few from thousands of human worlds. Whether you seize this opportunity or not, is up to you. You are at Magus Academy, the pinnacle of humanity's ingenuity. Only one in tens of thousands of acolytes possess this!" Thus began Emery’s journey together with his 4 friends from the furthest corner of Earth. Each year they returned to Earth to grow, seek revenge, save the princess, conquer the world, and become Earth's Greatest Magus. Their names are still etched in our history books to this day. Authors Note: I have always been fascinated by writing fantasy relating to historical facts. In this story, you will find characters inspired by real-world myth and legend. The universe I created hopefully will make the reader's imagination excited and logically plausible. I hope you enjoy it. ### Here are some key aspects you'll encounter: MC: The protagonist follows the classic weak-to-strong arc. World: Picture a blend of Harry Potter and Star Wars. System: While it's primarily a magic-based story, there's a structured system in place that's easy to follow. Additionally, elements of cultivation. Harem: No, there are several female interests. But I enjoy romance first. So even if there will be more than one love interest it will be deep. Note: English is not my first language, but you'll notice that my writing and English skills gradually improve throughout the chapters. Other: The novel delves into deep research on science and history, enriching the storyline with factual and intriguing details. Give it a read—you might be pleasantly surprised by what unfolds. If you’re planning to read this novel, let me give you a quick update for those who enjoy analyzing logic or simply reading for fun. One thing I didn’t like about this novel is how the MC changes over time. At the start, he’s portrayed as this cold, cool, and detached character. But as the story progresses, he starts trying to change himself. I get that the author is trying to show character development, but it feels inconsistent. If the MC is supposed to be an assassin, shouldn’t he remain cold and hardened, at least for a while? What’s the point of emphasizing his assassin background if he’s not going to act like one? Another issue is the way the MC tries to save some slaves. This isn’t a bad plot point in itself, but it’s poorly executed. The MC deliberately gets himself kidnapped to infiltrate the group and save them, but it’s full of logical inconsistencies. For instance, the MC has mana, yet none of the kidnappers notice it—except for a girl in the same cell. Let me explain the backstory. The MC takes over the body of someone who has recently died. This body was running away from the kidnappers before its death. Here’s where it gets strange: why aren’t the kidnappers questioning how he’s alive again or how he suddenly has mana? In this world, a person’s mana is detectable through their hands, so it should’ve been obvious. The reason the MC wants to save the slaves is because he sees himself in them, which is fine. But the real reason—revealed by the author—is that a princess is among the captives, though the MC doesn’t know this yet. The whole setup feels like a typical cliché: save the beauty, and she falls for the hero instantly without a second thought. Now, the logic behind the escape plan is where things completely fall apart. The MC plans to run away with the captives, but anyone who understands human nature knows it’s not that simple. Some captives are injured, sleep-deprived, or starving. When people are scared, human nature kicks in, and things can turn ugly. Some will betray others to survive, and others might even resort to violence for their own sake. This lack of realism bothers me because the MC is supposed to be an assassin—someone who has seen the worst of humanity. He should understand human betrayal and the complexities of survival. Instead, the author glosses over these issues, making everything too easy. It feels like the author isn’t considering the bigger picture, which makes the story frustrating to read. "Now if you read this far I did use ChatGPT to fix some of my writing but it changed most of my work but it still the same everything is the same but it has a more complex writing that I don’t put in my writing.”
