[Ascendance: The Journey to Type 7. Ch_013]
As the king's voice echoed through the hall with the command "DISMISSED," a pair of guards stepped forward to escort Kael and the assembled crew members into a private meeting hall.
The luxury of the space was breathtaking, with high ceilings adorned with shimmering chandeliers that reflected a spectrum of colors across the walls. Intricate mosaics lined the floors, telling stories of heroism and grandeur.
One of the guards turned to Kael, his voice steady and formal. "This is the room the king personally chose as your crew's headquarters. There will be everything inside the hall that each of you needs."
With that, the guards left, closing the grand doors behind them. The silence that followed was palpable, broken only by the soft rustle of fabric as the crew shifted in anticipation. Kael took a deep breath, steeling himself for the introductions that lay ahead.
"Alright, everyone," Kael began, his voice firm yet welcoming. "Let's get to know each other. I want to hear your names and what you bring to our team."
The first to step forward was Novea Dryst, the Chief Communications Officer. Her bright blue eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "I'm Novea, 21 years old. I'll manage our communications and ensure we're always connected, no matter how far we travel." Her smile was warm, and Kael felt a sense of reassurance from her presence.
Next came Astrid Renna, the Pilot Trainee, who stepped forward with a determined glint in her eye. "I'm Astrid, 19, and I'm training to be a pilot. I'm skilled in navigation and quick maneuvers. I won't let you down!" Her voice was filled with youthful fervor, and Kael felt a spark of excitement at her eagerness.
Following her was Zyra Kaelen, the Weapons Specialist. She was fierce and confident, with short, spiky hair framing her face. "Zyra, 20. I handle our armaments and close combat situations. I'll keep us safe when things get dicey." Her tone was serious, yet Kael could sense a hint of playful mischief behind her words.
Mirae Koris, the Engineer, adjusted her glasses and stepped forward next. "I'm Mirae, 22. I'm responsible for keeping our ship operational, especially in emergencies. I can fix just about anything, given the right tools." Her voice was steady, and Kael admired her pragmatic approach.
The introductions continued with Yuna Terys, the Medic. "I'm Yuna, 21. I'll take care of everyone's health and ensure we're all fit for duty." Her gentle demeanor radiated warmth, and Kael felt grateful to have someone so caring on his team.
Then there was Faye Lorian, the Science Officer, who stood with a curious glimmer in her eyes. "I'm Faye, 19. I'll oversee our scientific explorations and anomaly detection. I love discovering new things!" Her excitement was infectious, and Kael found himself smiling at her enthusiasm.
As Kael watched Faye introduce herself, he couldn't help but feel a little taken aback by her presence. Her enthusiasm seemed to light up the room, and for a moment, Kael found himself captivated—not just by her words but by her.
She was strikingly beautiful, her features softened by a youthful energy that radiated pure excitement. Her vibrant blue eyes sparkled with curiosity and intelligence, and there was an ease about her, a natural grace that seemed at odds with the serious role she held on the ship. Kael caught himself staring for a heartbeat too long, surprised by the effect she had on him.
The male crew members began their introductions, starting with Raiden Tatsu, the Head Navigator. "I'm Raiden, 22. I'll chart our routes and navigate through hostile territories." His tone was confident, and Kael appreciated his straightforwardness.
Anubis Kaen, the Chief Security Officer, followed suit. "Anubis, 21. I'll handle security and tactical responses. You can count on me to protect our crew." His intensity was palpable, and Kael felt the weight of responsibility settle upon his shoulders.
Gilgamesh Rael, the Strategic Operations Officer, stepped forward with a calm demeanor. "Gilgamesh, 24. I'm here to devise our mission plans and coordinate operations." His analytical gaze made Kael feel a sense of safety, knowing they had someone so sharp on their side.
Then came Osiris Lyre, the Recon Specialist. "Osiris, 19. I specialize in reconnaissance and gathering intel for our missions." His youthful energy matched the others, and Kael sensed a strong camaraderie beginning to form.
Next was Indra Vaylen, the Senior Engineer. "Indra, 24. I'll ensure our engines are running optimally, especially during warp." His authoritative presence inspired confidence, and Kael knew he would be a crucial asset.
Icarus Valen, the Intelligence Officer, introduced himself. "I'm Icarus, 20. I manage intel gathering and analysis. I'll work closely with Novea." His focused expression hinted at a sharp mind, one that would prove invaluable in their endeavors.
Orion Dray, the Co-Pilot, stepped forward. "Orion, 23. I'll assist with piloting duties and navigating dense starfields." His relaxed demeanor contrasted with the others, yet Kael could sense a depth of experience beneath his calm exterior.
Cronan Rael, the Chief Pilot, stepped forward. "Cronan, 26. I'll assist with piloting duties and navigating dense starfields." His relaxed demeanor contrasted with the others, yet Kael could sense a depth of experience beneath his calm exterior.
Lastly Voss Stonefury, stepped forward with Alaric Frostborn. Voss introuduced, "This is lieutenent Alaric Frostborn, He and I will be the Crew's Advisors and Trainers."
After the introductions concluded, Kael thought to himself, "You want entertainment? I'll give you entertainment. I, Kael Ashvale, will uncover your identity and expose your secrets. But for now, let's play your game. My all pawns are all in place—what about yours?"
Then a message Popped Up in Kael's System.
[******** ****** : Find's your claims amusing]
["Son, don't worry about my pawns."]
["Worry about your own pawns"]
[******** ****** : Says He Will Be Watching, Give Him A Good Show]
[******** ****** : Says the name "******** ******" is not good]
[******** ****** : Says You Can Call Him Secretive Plotter]
As Kael Read the messages of the System, He whispered. "You can Contact me through System". "Interesting, it's even good if you can contact me." [Smirked Evilly]
The atmosphere in the room shifted as a humanoid robot entered. It resembled a real human maid, moving with graceful fluidity. The crew watched in silence as the robot spoke in a melodic tone. "Your mission, Captain Kael, will be solely to find the power source of Aetherium. You will wander the universe, growing stronger with each challenge you face."
The crew exchanged glances, a mix of excitement and determination lighting their expressions. Kael felt the weight of their expectations, but the thought of the journey ahead filled him with resolve.
"Each of you," the robot continued, "has been granted powers by different Deities. Your abilities will aid you in this quest. However, Kael's power is something deeper, more ominous—something even us, Celestials do not fully understand."
A hush fell over the group, the implications of those words settling heavily upon them. Kael glanced at each of his crewmates, the gravity of their mission reflecting in their eyes.
"Let's make this journey one we can all be proud of," Kael said, his voice steady. "Together, we will uncover the mysteries of Aetherium and harness its power."
The crew nodded, their expressions resolute. Kael felt a spark of hope igniting within him, a sense that they were ready to face whatever challenges awaited them in the vastness of the galaxy.
After the robot maid completed its speech, it glided gracefully to the center of the room. With a subtle hum, it produced a series of sleek, metallic rings from a concealed compartment.
"These are your Military IDs," it announced. "Each ring is embedded with advanced nanotechnology, designed to facilitate your passage through any galaxy in the universe. The holographic display will activate with your energy, granted to you by the deities."
As each crew member stepped forward, the robot placed a ring upon their finger. A soft glow emanated from the gem in each ring, projecting a holographic display of their names, ranks, and unique identifiers.
"[Beep boop]" echoed softly as the holograms flickered to life, illuminating the crew members' faces with a warm glow. Kael watched as each crew member admired their IDs, a sense of pride swelling within him.
"This is amazing!" Novea exclaimed, her eyes wide as she examined the shimmering holographic interface. "I can't believe we have official IDs now!"
"I'll make sure to keep mine safe," Astrid added, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "Wouldn't want to lose my access to the ship, right?"
Zyra laughed, her confidence shining through. "You'd better not, or you might end up stuck doing maintenance with Mirae instead of flying."
Mirae rolled her eyes, but a small smile tugged at her lips. "Maintenance isn't so bad, you know. Just… don't touch my tools without asking."
As the day progressed, the crew busied themselves with final preparations for departure. Kael observed them, his heart swelling with a mix of pride and anxiety.
He wanted to ensure that each member felt prepared and confident as they ventured into the unknown.
Three days later, the crew gathered in the command deck of their ship, The Astral Vanguard. Kael stood at the helm, gazing out at the stars beyond the viewports. "Set course for the Celestara Star System In Astralith Galaxy," he commanded, his voice steady.
"We'll be stopping at Planet Vesperia for two days. Our destination is the continent of Radiant Shoals, in the country of Wavesong Union, city of Tidespire."
"Aye, Captain," Orion replied, his fingers dancing over the controls. "[Whirring]" The ship responded with a gentle hum as it adjusted its trajectory.
Kael watched as the stars began to blur, transforming into a dazzling line of light as they entered warp drive. The sensation was exhilarating, and he felt a rush of excitement coursing through him. But beneath the excitement lay an undercurrent of worry.
He found himself lost in thought, wondering about his family—his Aunt Elara and Uncle Caelan, and the sibling he had yet to meet.
"Hey, Kael, you alright?" Icarus's voice broke through his reverie. He turned to find Icarus standing nearby, concern etched on his face.
"Yeah, just… thinking," Kael replied, forcing a smile. "About family. You know how it is."
Icarus nodded, his expression softening. "I understand. It's hard not to worry about them, especially when you're heading into the unknown. But remember, you're not alone in this. We're all here for each other."
"Thanks, Icarus," Kael said, appreciating the sentiment. He glanced around at his crew, each of them busy with their tasks but also casting occasional glances in his direction, checking in on him.
Astrid approached, her energy infectious. "We'll make new memories together, Kael! Adventures, challenges… and who knows what else awaits us? Just think about all the places we'll see!"
Raiden chimed in, standing at the navigation console. "And the glory we'll achieve! Just imagine our names echoing through the Universe as our crew that discovered the power source of Aetherium." Her excitement was palpable, a spark that ignited the group's enthusiasm.
"[Buzzer sound]" echoed from the control panel as Faye glanced at the readings. "We're entering Astralith Galaxy now! I've always wanted to explore this region. The anomalies here are said to be fascinating!"
Zyra cracked her knuckles. "And I'm ready for any trouble that might come our way. Just let them try to test us!"
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves," Gilgamesh said, his analytical mind already considering their route. "We should keep our focus. Each step brings us closer to our goal."
Kael felt a surge of determination at their words, their camaraderie bolstering his spirits. "You're right," he said, raising his voice to capture everyone's attention. "Together, we'll face whatever challenges lie ahead. We are a crew, and we will succeed."
As they soared through the cosmos, Kael stood tall, the weight of leadership settling comfortably on his shoulders.
He took one last glance out at the stream of stars, his thoughts drifting toward his family. "I'll make you proud," he whispered to the void, feeling the warmth of his crew surrounding him, ready for the journey ahead.
As the ship continued its course towards the Celestara Star System, Kael gathered the crew on the command deck, sensing a moment of clarity among the stars.
He took a deep breath, turning to face his comrades. "Before we arrive, I need to ask something of all of you. I didn't get the chance at the Titanium Colossus because I wasn't sure. Now that we're alone, may I ask a few questions?"
The crew exchanged glances, their expressions curious and a bit bewildered. "What's on your mind, Captain?" asked Anubis, leaning against the console with a slight grin.
Kael rubbed the back of his neck, feeling the weight of the questions he was about to pose. "What is the name of the king? And who is the beautiful lady that was beside him during our meeting?"
Raiden raised an eyebrow, clearly taken aback. "all things aside, You don't even know the name of the king?" he exclaimed, incredulous. The rest of the crew looked equally stunned, their eyes wide.
"I… I didn't think it was the right time to ask," Kael admitted, a sheepish grin creeping onto his face.
"King's name is Aldric Valen," Gilgamesh replied, his tone a mixture of disbelief and amusement. "And the lady beside him was.. Queen Selene. She's renowned for her beauty and wisdom. But really, you didn't know that?"
Kael shook his head, laughing slightly. "No, I guess I missed that part. What about Princess Thalia? What is her relationship to the king?"
Voss stepped forward, his voice steady. "Princess Thalia is the king's sister. Their bond is known throughout the kingdom; they're very close, often working together on matters of state."
"Okay, good to know," Kael said, jotting down mental notes as he continued. "And what are the specifications of our ship, The Astral Vanguard? I've heard bits and pieces, but I'd like to know more."
The crew shared another round of astonished looks, clearly impressed that their captain needed a refresher on their ship. "Seriously, Kael?" Mirae said, shaking her head with a smirk.
"The Astral Vanguard is the latest model equipped with technology that the Majority of Galactars or even Celestials can't even imagine in their lifetime. It's built for speed, durability, and advanced combat capabilities."
"Exactly," Alaric added, stepping in with enthusiasm. "It has a quantum core for instantaneous warp travel, reinforced shielding made from a composite alloy, and state-of-the-art navigation systems that adapt to any environment."
"Not to mention," Icarus interjected, "it boasts a fully integrated AI system for tactical support, enhanced weaponry, and energy management that maximizes our efficiency during battles."
Zyra crossed her arms, a playful glint in her eye. "And if you still don't know, it can cloak from enemy detection and has a self-repair feature. We're literally flying a technological marvel!"
Kael chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief at his own oversight. "I see I have much to learn about our ship and our kingdom. Thanks for the crash course, everyone. I promise to get up to speed."
As the crew laughed and exchanged banter, the tension of the past few days began to dissipate. Kael felt a renewed sense of connection with his crew, grateful for their camaraderie. The ship soared through the void, each member ready to face whatever awaited them in the Celestara Star System.
