I stood alone.

Many corpses of my tribesmen lay before my feet. That includes warriors, women and children.

Not so far away the woman who I spent my first time in this world also died. Despair clear on her face.

I walked towards her and cupped my hands to her eyes to close her eyelids.

"I'm sorry." That was all I could say.

...

Let's turn back time for a little bit.

After the little event with the woman I slept with, the chief and mother said that if I don't have any woman I love and interest to take as my bride, she will be the one I will marry by default.

In the Superd tribe, if a man and a woman loved each other and spent the night together, it is inevitable that they'll be married. Or else the man may suffer to have their manhood cutoff as compensation. And the woman will be known to be impure, lessening their chances for marriage.

However since this custom is old even before the chief's generation, they decided to give me a little consideration. But they still strictly adhere to the tradition.

Just then a sudden ominous feeling washed over me. Like my danger signals are blaring loud. I tensed myself holding firmly to my spear.

A man came running from the entrance. It was the current warrior assigned for guard duty.

"Everyone! The warriors have come back!"

What?!

I focused Mana into my third eye to look at my radar. If I put Mana into it I could see several times more radius around me. And just like the man has said, several dozen of warriors are coming at our village at full speed running towards us.

"Emergency! All warriors listen! Evacuate all the women and children, we're under attack!" I yelled loudly.

Of course, everybody was looking at me confused.

I didn't explain myself and leaped dozzens of meters up in the air, quickly making my way to my home.

"Mother!"

"Ruiweld? What's going on?" She was still in the middle of her work.

"Mother hurry up and run away from here."

"What's happening? Aren't the warriors coming back? I'm preparing a nice meal for your father once he gets here."

A second later horrifying screams came from outside. Then came the sounds of blood spilling.

"I don't have time to explain! Just go!"

I urged her to escape. I pointed her to the opposite direction where the attack was coming from.

I hurriedly ran to the place. The battle had already started, and there had already a few casualties on our side. There have already been multiple women and children with their heads and torso torn apart from their bodies.

The dozens of warriors that came attacking are now in frenzied state. They carried an ominous spear filled with vast amounts of Mana it wouldn't normally been possible. It also seemed to give those warriors a huge amount of strength normally wouldn't be possible.

It has become an all out fight for blood. Our warriors are lacking compared to combat experience. Undergoing some brutal training from me, they were able to exchange a few blows to each other and hold them off for a while. But they were still outmatched in terms of techniques, and got disadvantaged pretty quickly.

One warrior who just matured and started his training is facing a frenzied warrior. Despite his youth he was quite large, and the warrior he was facing is two heads shorter than him. But despite their differences in physiques, they are equal in brute strength. He got careless and presented a huge opening, his opponent didn't let the opportunity pass by and delivered a fatal blow.

I arrived just in the nick of time and parried the blow away. The strike was quite heavy and the momentum from it could've broken a full steel armor.

"Ch-chief!"

"Squad leaders and their lieutenants follow me! The rest focus on escaping to help our women and children, retreat with the elders and the chief! If you encounter an attack, protect them no matter what the cost! As the honor of the proud warriors of Superd, we shall protect them even if we had to die here!"

"...OOORAAHHH!"

After giving a command and my whole speech, I emboldened the warriors and their declining morale starts to come back.

I took the elite warriors with me to face off against the frenzied warriors head on. They followed me with unwavering look in their face. They knew that they will die in this battle, and yet they didn't seem to fear their end. After all to the warriors, there is no more honorable death than in the battlefield.

...

"Everyone listen to me, I know that we're facing our very own warriors. Some of them might be even your family. But you don't need to hold back, you all can tell from that wicked feeling coming from those cursed spears don't you?" I said running on my way.

"So they were all cursed after all?"

"Yes. However I know of a way to break their curse." I said to bring them hope. "We just need to break those spears and are warrior's souls will break free from the curse."

Everyone understands their objective. Honestly just based on stats alone we are weaker than them. Not to mention we are largely outnumbered.

Based on my third eye, we are largely outnumbered by more than five times. Despite their frenzied state of mind and a huge power up of Battle Aura emenating from that cursed spears, their combat effectiveness remained sharp undeterred from their berserk state. Truly after countless years spending in the battlefield, their skills were deeply ingrained to their very bones that a mere curse would dull them.

This is gonna be one hell of a fight.

...

Back to the present.

In the end I was the last man standing. The rest of my comrades died being impaled or their heads torn of their bodies. It was gruesome and ugly, but their face shows they died an honorable death. Maybe the slightest regret they only have is that they weren't just a little bit more stronger to protect their loveones more.

In the end, some had sacrificed their lives to break free our warriors from their curse. Those warriors in turn snapped out from it. They realized the sins the heavy committed, they despaired and cried. Some had even felt so guilty that they began to take their own life on the spot out of shame.

I thought that at this rate this will be not good. I have to say something.

"Don't fall into despair. You may have committed a huge sin for murdering your tribesmen. But right now we need your strength to help our fellow warriors who's still under the influence of the curse. Take hold on the souls of our fallen warriors and help me break those cursed spears!"

With my shout some began to got back from their feet. They took hold of the spears of the warrior that break them free from the curse and started to help me.

They were much more trained and experienced than my previous comrades. These warriors have even managed to take a few of them at the same time.

It seems that after spending years together in the battlefield, these warriors also have learned their comrades movements and habits.

However it didn't last long enough, those warriors had fallen too being far too outnumbered.

I began breaking one spear after another, but it seems the numbers aren't falling.

I especially have a hard time fighting seven of them at the very same time. One thing I observed that this warriors despite still having sharp movements to their skills, their utilization of their third eye with other warriors are a little sluggish. I thought it must be from their frenzied state.

I take that into my advantage fighting multiple opponents at the same time. Everytime I thought they would get a direct hit, I swiftly avoid those attacks and hit the weakest part of their spears destroying them.

In the end I could only break four of those spears, and I didn't have the leisure but to kill the other three.

Because of the ensuing battle I had tun all over the battlefield picking out on frenzied warriors after another. Whenever I encountered a skillful warrior that is quite problematic, I had no choice but to kill them immediately and proceed to the next.

After the battle had somewhat died down, I could only see corpses and corpses littering on the ground. Fire is spreading through the settlements. And the stench of blood lingering on the air.

I stood alone.

Many corpses of my tribesmen lay before my feet. That includes warriors, women and children.

Not so far away the woman who I spent my first time in this world also died. Despair clear on her face.

I walked towards her and cupped my hands to her eyes to close her eyelids.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't protect you." That was all I could say. She was the first woman I ever had in my life. I will hold my memories together with her that night for the rest of my life.

I could hear crying and sobbing scattering in the village. Most of them are warrior's that I barely manage to break from their cursed spears. Facing the reality of their actions in front of their dead tribesmen.

My third eye is still searching for one specific person.

And there he is.

Standing in front of me emenating the most fearsome killing intent that could ever be. He had the most malicious Mana coming out of that spear. His face looked crazy and his body drenched with blood.

He is the strongest warrior that the Superd tribe ever has.

"We met again father."

Wether the story will unfold and destiny proceeds just as it should be and I welcome my death and save him or not depends on this final confrontation.
